excited :D

about 7 hours till my birthday.. i know its rather silly to be counting down at this age but it's one of the few things that i've been looking forward this month!

thanks for the cards/presents arriving in the mail and for the bday lunches and dinners which started yesterday!! i look forward to the rest of the week xD (thanks irene, ray, peg peg, april, phil, mr. tuna, silly, fishy, jay, man man etc. etc. i will properly thank everyone with pictures later on!)

just received a phone call from Mr. Postman... a birthday gift has arrived :D (but no one at home to pick it up D: hence the reason for the call)~ Along with the one I have to pick up tomorrow at central post office, this will mark my third gift... If the one that's at home right now is not mr.tuna's gift, then mr.tuna's will be the fourth gift xD so excited! not just because i'm receiving several presents but because i'm feeling the love, and how people took the time to mail things out to me; EARLY!

i really love you all :)

however, mama and papa coming back will be the biggest bday gift of all! i haven't celebrated my birthday with my family since a looooonggggg time ago~ i really need that warmth and incomparable love from them a lot.

thanks for reminding me that i have that, silly!

i went to see a chinese doctor on saturday, as my left wrist has been hurting for a long time and the bone specialist didnt find any problem :( however, once i sat down in the chair at the office, he asked me how long i've had the flu for (note, my expression was definitely: ), and listed out a bunch of symptoms i've been experiencing for several weeks now (maybe months even), just after tapping on my right wrist a few times~ apparently i have what's called "風熱" ('wind hot' in english), which was causing my night flushes/weird fevers, coughing, dizziness, stomach pain, sleeplessness, fatigue etc. Aside from a week's worth of scary soil-water (i refuse to use another word to describe it! haha) to drink, he said i should:

1. sleep earlier (i have T__T for the past week, i slept at 11:30! but just not quality sleep...)
2. dress warmly to avoid getting even more sick (i do T__T)
3. avoid eating red meats (duck, goose, lamb, beef), spicy food, fried food, stir-fried foods, most fruits, cold foods, and raw foods

you can imagine my expression when i was told that last point: (exact expression)
that's avoiding basically everything =____=;

however i really hope to get better and sleep better so i hope this all works out.. he said that after i clear up my flu/germs, he can treat my wrist which he said would take a longer time D:

it's been awhile since my last update~! lots has been happening so i haven't had much time to write here ~_~;; however, i am thankful for the support and warmth i'm receiving from a lot of my dear friends/sisters/brothers/soulmates etc. from all around the world, and i'm really feeling the love! really love you all :D i hope you can all feel me reaching out to your warmth~

i read this on ray bro's gf's blog when i was looking around after seeing their europe pics there. how many of you believe the following?

1. 沒有一百分的另一半，只有五十分的兩個人。

unfortunately, i feel as if these four points are talking about me directly! the last point seems to be one open for discussion though.. at the end, no matter if you really step out the 999 steps, at the end, i don't think anyone can accept it deep down in their hearts.
are you this type of person? to me, i think it is the experiences in life that change people drastically but at the end, the way you love, and how you view love doesn't really change all that much. i know for me my "love deeply, although may be hurt deeply" viewpoint will never change.

i hope everyone has a wonderful start to their year and will work hard to fulfill their resolutions (if they made any haha...)
i promise not to disappoint those who are watching out for me and caring for me. i know i am very weak and vulnerable at times, but i also know that these parts of me are small compared to the objective, fast to cool part of me... i promise to put those two parts together so that i am not too extreme on either end.
i am thankful for those who have stepped out and showed me that i am in their thoughts and that i am very much loved! i got a million text msgs last night/this morning (till 7am.. i'm not joking.. how much energy do you guys have!!) and got a few more this afternoon and i am sooo thankful for them :)
but most of all, thanks for your call ah gor (ken)~ it cheered me up, especially since you called at OUR new year's instead of toronto! i called but the lines in toronto were messed up and i couldn't reach my parents either! haha...

anyway... a few things.

1. a new start :D i am looking forward to life no matter what has been tossed to me (yes.. dinb would say i'm a crazy person, along with the 'no need to sleep' thing...)
2. looking forward to mom and dad's visit.. thanks mom for coming back to celebrate my bday! *rubs hands in glee* i am looking forward to tons of laughter and warmth.. i miss my family so much.
3. my bday is coming up! i am really excited for some reason, although most ppl stop being excited at this age i think? haha i can still see myself telling the ppl at the office straight out how old i am when they ask me... the same way i did two years ago!
4. CNY.. first time celebrate it with whole family in hk.. i hope to eat a ton of mom's cooking and seeing lots of friends and relatives that i never get to see unless parents are here!

lg718, thank you for trying. i think i understand the situation so well, too well in fact, that i'm actually very objective about it when i talk to you. i really want everything to be smoother and everyone to be truly happy again. i am too 'happy go lucky' to be able to dwell on this type of thing for too long. no matter what it may seem like, you have taught me a lot, patience, thinking for others and about real freedom and space...i hope 2008 will be stress free for you or at least be a year where you can accomplish all that you want to...i miss your pasta and random chinese medicine tea so much! and your smile and laughter, i haven't seen or heard that in a long time.. no matter what you are facing now, please try to remember to take it simple/lightly and to remember to smile. i think the one thing i brought to you was simplicity and laughter and i hope that it is what you will have more of again in 2008. love u.. add oil!

fishy.. i cannot say how thankful i am to you. i try to tell you every day and i think words fail (for once haha...). i hope your 2008 is a good year and that you will try hard to overcome the things you want to overcome. we understand each other very very well.. so well that i really dont' need to tell you and you'll understand :) love you lots~

my x'mas/new years gift to myself

on saturday i went to drink tea with my family and then went on a small shopping trip with bro and micsis... what can i say? i've been trying to make time to set foot into the miumiu store in tst, but either never remember or never have time! but magically once i'm with bro and micsis, i can finally go inside and i see the bag i've been trying to get my hands on...

and guess what? 'miraculously' there were two of them!
i've been trying to get a black bag for aaaaaages, ever since i realized how many people use my musebag and that nearly every bag i have was brown (usually dark-ish brown). i am so happy with this bag.. for it's look, colour, style etc and especially since it was one of the last two in the store :D with three girls hovering over the sample bag in our hands, it was good to hear micsis saying "we'll take both!" when the sales brought out the last two~ i really am a devil haha.. definitely no help in the "dont' buy this _insert item_ because..." department! (more details about that day is here in micsis blog entry)
although there was a sad point to that day (i don't want to talk about it :( i hate losing things!) it all ended pretty well :D

once again, thanks for the cards and gifts! :D hope everyone had a merry christmas and will have an awesome new year's countdown! (try not to get too drunk :P) i will post pics taken randomly on christmas eve later~

happy holidays everyone :D hope you all have a wonderful holiday and a great start to the new year! eat lots and remember to relax and have a lot of fun as well~ thanks to all those who took time to mail me a christmas card, even though i'm in far away hk XD

to start my entry...first off, i was a little disappointed when my boss informed me that i couldn't take my leave (27, 28 and 31) because there weren't enough people at work and it was also month end :( so i'd have to stay for those three days. as i wasn't planning on going anywhere (hokkaido will be next year for sure!), it wasn't actually TOO bad; i think i'm pouting just because i was planning to be able to tell everyone that i can laze around at home and now i can't :(
however i do have my loveeeely~~~ coworkers to spend next week with so i am REALLY glad that they're here! love you guys~~

our company annual christmas party was held (very successfully may i add) on tuesday 18 december! i am glad it's over but yet at the same time can't believe it's over because it seemed like we hadn't planned it for a very long time. this year i think is much better than the previous years because we had better ideas and the committee was a LOT more fun :D

this year's theme was "movie night" and the games included:

1. drawing things with a blindfold on while your team attempts to guess
2. a clip of the movie "The Ring" was shown and each table had to re-enact that scene with props we provide and anything else they find in the room
3. a clip of a famous movie was shown and questions were asked about that scene

what other things happened? we had a magician come perform for about 45 minutes (amazing, really amazing and fun :D) and i won a hkd1k gift coupon for lane crawford~ (good for cosmetics and such i guess?)

i am still looking forward to the holidays and to giving out x'mas cards/gifts at work :D

super busy busy lately with random things (my wine exam.. which i hope i passed D: i seriously hope i did...) so I just realized that i didn't even post pictures from some dinners i had with dai ken when he was back!

Jay Chou 2007 concert :D

there are a few things i wanted to post before i forgot, but since last night's events are still fresh in my head, i've decided to type it down before i forget :D

i finally got a chance to attend Jay Chou in concert last night! Previously, either i left HK just before his concert or when i was in HK he didn't have one that year or something ~_~;; so when it was confirmed that he was going to perform this year, i wasted no time in arranging to get tickets to see him :D only thing is i wish silly was here to watch with me because we'd be able to scream like crazy together :(

to summarize, i think he is very talented, not just because he can write his own songs and such but he's able to produce a very distinct style that is "jay chou" and has been able to do it with ease. He's also very talented as a musician, and demonstrated that by playing piano, guitar, drums and the zither (thanks for the term silly hahah) with skill, and not just basic strumming/playing. i heard that the saturday night show had Yundi Li performing the 'piano show-off' section with him which i wish i could have watched! his singing wasn't too bad, pretty much sounding like his cd, and he performed so many different things last night that i found it pretty entertaining. from performing acoustic versions of his fast songs, then later performing a really dance version etc. although i wish it could have gone on forever, the concert ended promptly after 11 and on a very sudden note :( however, i finally brought my camera this time, so I can show a taste of what it was like :D

I talked to some of my colleagues who saw the concert as well and i'm thankful that the speakers and mikes were working properly last night! one colleague said she sat really far, but she couldn't hear anything because the speakers weren't working! and the mike kept screeching as well... i feel so bad for them ~_~

on a side note, ah gor (ken) left :( i wish i could have seen him before he left but he was too busy that day and quite lost in doing his own thing so i guess i'm glad i was able to see him 3 times this year as opposed to one time two years ago :P
ah gor, thanks for everything! will post pics of dinners with him later~

sis birthday~ a longgg entry XD

i took a day off on thursday to spend it with my sis, as it was her birthday that day :D it was a great start to the weekend (to me, it begins on friday haha) ~ she came over to central to have lunch with me and bro, then we went off to elements where i also managed to get tickets to watch the 3D version of Beowulf. the mall, though big, didn't have much to look at so we left and went back to central to look at the tiffany at IFC and stop to have a afternoon drink. we headed back home afterwards, then went back out to dinner afterwards to a pretty well-known, old-style beijing cuisine restaurant in tst called 鹿鳴春飯店. i had gone there with the eas group awhile back for our 'reunion' back in march or so and really liked the food. the price was reasonable and the portions were huge! their peking duck is imported from beijing so the taste is a lot different from the usual HK peking duck. as usual, we had a silly, fun time but didn't take too many pictures as both my camera and micsis/bro's cam were out of battery D:

the next day, i met up with donb after work and ate at that japanese restaurant i realllly like~ again, it's located in tst, and they are famous for their japanese style porkchop and for their sauces etc. (i was there for the veggies :D soo delicious~~) afterwards, we met up with ken around 10 and helped him buy some clothing he'd need to take on his japan trip (so lucky D: going to japan after arriving in HK for less than a week...) and then went to have some drinks/snacks with him. it was soooo nice because we had to a chance to chat with each after such a long while!

the next day i ate lunch at tst (notice the theme? i think i've been to tst nearly every single day this week.. haha i think it stems from my refusal to stay over in the HK side after work and to avoid it on weekends), then went to ysl to pick up this bracelet i had put on hold. the people in this tst store are SO SO nice ~_~ the reason why it took them all morning to call me was because they had the bracelet sent up from central to their tst store so that i could compare theirs and the one from central at the same time! they then proceeded to take out all their newest items (wallets and clutches mainly) and show them to me, although i didn't buy anything else aside from the bracelet~ for those who are interested, they told me their men's stuff will arrive this week :D
we went down to the lv store after, where i finally got my stupid bag sent to be repaired (long story ~_~;;)~ i was glad there wasn't a lineup outside! inside, the store was packed and it took me awhile to get someone to pay attention to me.. the sales weren't too friendly and it took me so long just to get the bag sent to repairs and to buy the agenda refill i needed ~_~; (i really miss the store in sydney! i know i should have asked the name of the sales that helped us there, but damn, what a large difference it was in comparison to HK.. much nicer)
afterwards we went to elements to watch the beowulf movie :D all i can say, without spoiling the movie, is that it was really really fun to watch, especially if you haven't watched a 3D movie before. i've only seen a short one at disneyland many years ago so it was really amazing to see a full length movie in 3D. i think the movie itself would have been a little less interesting if it wasn't in 3D, but i think it was not bad as a whole. i was basically (as per usual) the only one laughing at the lame jokes/actions in the movie... i wonder if it's because the ppl in hk really just read subtitles and the jokes are lost in translation or if they're too busy reading the subtitles to notice that something funny happened?

i got home really late and realized that i had a lunch date with my bro/micsis the next day so i basically had around 6 hours of sleep (not enough when it's the weekend! D:)
on sunday, i had a chance to relax with my family and spend the afternoon shopping a bit with my sis. sunday is always a 'winding down' and 'preparing' (for work D:) day for me so i took the time to stay at home and do things that i never had time to do. (ie. format my laptop; i hope it's not still messed up ~_~;;)

1. this week: must start on christmas cards, christmas present shopping and mailing out stuff! november is already nearly finished :D i am so glad (i think it's my least favorite month of the year.... haha..)

2. must be careful not to get sick (especially you, raven!!) - too many ppl have colds/sore throats/flu/cough at the office D:

3. should i? or should i not? re: taking the exam... i know i want to.. but it's such a large commitment ~_~

mario galaxy is fun! depending on what style of game you want, for silliness get the rayman games (so super silly) and wario ware (for silly laughs again), for group games get mario party (for those days when you have a bunch of people over who want to play a board game without the actual 'board'), and maybe the mario olympics game (personally i think it's a little hard to play tough), for girlie games get cooking mama (for the girlie side of you), and guitar hero (for random music game). I could go on and on about this... hahah

i finally bought christmas cards on saturday (cute ones, if i may say so myself haha), but counting again, i realize there may not be enough cards to send out D: my deadline to send out is first week of december, before those silly cut off dates and also so that people can receive them BEFORE the christmas holidays~

yesterday i went to a 'bayview' gathering dinner (i believe i was the only other non-bayview person that knew everyone... they called me a 'spy' or 'bayview wannabe' D:) organized by stephen (thanks for taking the time :D), which was a LOT of fun! ah gor (big ken) is back in HK and will be staying here for a short while so it was really good to see him again. we had about 14 people and ate at a chinese restaurant in the causeway bay area~

on a side note, my sis' birthday is coming soon: this thursday! i was lucky and able to book a place recommended by philip previously (and that we went to for our first eas gathering) and will take half a day off (mandatory, as required by the Older Sister law :P) to spend it with her. i will take pics of that place for sure :D

ps: park & shop are finally not giving out plastic bags anymore D: that means...either you pay for each bag they give you, or i gotta remember to bring reusable bags each time @.@ (i can totally imagine myself lugging vegetables/fruits home in my hands because i forgot...)

mr. tuna~ hahaha i knew you were gonna make a comment about the pictures!! unfortunately that's what happens when you pass it to a waiter who tries to just fit everyone in the picture~ the picture with me and two other friends also had that problem so i kinda had to crop off a bit of it... it previously was showing off how beautiful the ballroom and tables were and seemed like we 'just happened' to be sitting there as well.... it was terrible! if i wasn't sitting so far, i would have preferred to bring my own cam of course hehe

a touching wedding :D

i've been sooo lazy to update lately, probably due to a mixture of random stuff that's been going on and also because i've been sleeping too late, lately =______=; i actually nearly fell asleep in the washroom today because i was sleepy...i found myself walking there with the purpose of standing in front of our tiny lockers and leaning against it to close my eyes. i took a power nap at lunch for around 20 minutes and it helped a lot.

on sunday, i went to attend a colleague's wedding! it was held at island shangri-la in admiralty and it was absolutely amazing! the setting was perfect, the service was perfect and my friend looked amazing that night :) it was just hard not to feel the love her husband had for her, and their vows made my eyes tear up so easily. it really told everyone "now THIS is what love is"... the food was pretty good too! and there were none of those embarassing games where you have to find out who the bride is, etc etc. so it was really short and sweet. i think that now that they allow lawyers to come to a reception place to conduct the marriage ceremony, it's much more efficient and MUCH more enjoyable. Previously, for those who dont' know how it works in HK, you basically gotta get a ticket to line up so that you can line up for a chance to get married on a certain day. that's right, you go online to grab a ticket so that you can have a chance in line to choose the day you wanted to get married. and that's not all, when you do get a chance to get your day, you have only 15 minutes to do the whole process and they literally rush you out the door even if you weren't finished!! so basically there would be minimal photo taking!

so, on to the pics from that night :D i had a LOT of fun with my colleagues and 'brother', ray and am ever so glad we have a few new members to our team at work who are around my age to talk to and stuff :D
