i go by the name ling (part of my chinese name) as most everyone i meet mispronounces my english name and unfortunately the mispronounced name is not a name i really like (especially as the 'unique snowflake' part of me dislikes how common that name is...)...
anyway... some random facts:
- i love to read (whether it be manga or novels or short stories or whatever)
- i love music, and play the piano, harp and have a love/hate relationship with the guitar.. i've also taken violin (2 years) and clarinet (6 years?) lessons before but unfortunately never went far with them
i) i have a thing for stringed instruments xD (as you can tell by the above) and *think* i've found 'the one' stringed instrument i love (the harp)
ii) i love music... mostly non "hk pop" music, especially my beloved l'arc~en~ciel, hyde (lead singer of that band), gackt, muse, and now ft island (where i've become quite the primadonna)
- i'm a crazy gamer.. and by crazy, i mean i need to literally quit playing online rpgs because of how much time i've spent on them... my craziest record is probably playing from 9am-5am.. yes that's nearly 24 hrs of gaming there, in my uni days...because i've now quit from mmorpgs, i'm struggling with my 'cannot finish an FF game' syndrome and trying to finish ffxiii.
i)relating to the above, i have a tendency to play Final Fantasy (FF) games, getting every single bit of armor, doing every mini-game, getting all stats to 99999, getting all limit breaks/legendary weapons/whatever they're called in each version but... never really finishing the game. i need to quit doing that =_= i think it's the competitive 'must do everything' that makes me tired by the end.
- i love watching anime/manga, and was brainwashed at the tender age of 5 by my brother to macross, gundam etc. this led to my constant urge/need/want to become a gundam pilot~
- i love languages.. i speak cantonese, mandarin and english but was raised with japanese and now i'm studying korean (as it was the one place in asia where no one spoke or understood any language i knew haha...)
- i love laughing and making people laugh :D so i am often seen as silly, hyperactive, crazy, jumpy, overly-talkative but i just want to keep making people around me happy xD
- i love photography.. and love to photograph my two muses: fishy and my beloved nephew marcus~
- my attention span for something is usually maxed at 2hrs.. if it's longer, i begin fidgeting
- i've had one of my childhood dreams come true **may 24 2008 and July 2006 (i think?): seeing laruku live and hyde live.. i will never ever forget those days... fishy lining up for me at 8am in the morning to get me near front row (i think 7th row?) tickets for laruku, and flying for 6 days to LA just to see hyde... and lining up for 12 hrs in the heat + boring weather just to see him in concert for a little over an hour xD then missing my flight...
- i'm a sucker for funny, silly and touching love stories: my current favorite is 'you're beautiful' (미남이시네요)~ (in which my love for lee hong gi grew XD)
- i have over 20+ miffy stuffed toys... so many that i need to stop myself from buying more :(
there are probably a lot more things but i'll add to this when i remember xD
