my little traveller is coming to visit me!

Posted by Ling at 11:30 PM 2 comments
cylyna, my lovely traveller 'husband'/wife/bestest friend etc is coming back to HK for the summer! i'm so glad that i'm feeling giddy all over :D i just hope that i'll be totally recovered from this stupid cold when she comes back, as i have a really terrible cough now and it's getting worse each day ~_~

i just realized that on her journey to europe she sent me postcards and tons of letters and chocolate.. just in the span of her three week vacation all over europe with a friend, she sent me three postcards:

she always makes me want to be there!!

today after my lesson at causeway bay, i passed by this lovely little display:

mini Eiffel tower :D it was quite lovely among the lights in front of times square.
i really want to see it for real someday soon!

sick with the flu~

Posted by Ling at 2:16 PM 3 comments
i haven't posted for a few days now as i was sick with the flu starting monday! because of that, i have no energy and feel sleepy all the time even though i slept for most of the day yesterday ~_~; hopefully i can leave earlier today so that i can rest (especially as my manager told me i could!)~ hope everyone can be careful and not get sick these few days..t he weather is really unpredictable ~_~

but for a quick summary.. on saturday i had my first street jazz lesson! it was a ton of fun but as most of the people probably took jazz classes, the instructor taught at a really really fast pace so half the class was behind, while the jazz people were ahead. what is street jazz? it's an informal form of jazz dancing where 'mtv style' (as they put it haha) moves are used and rhythm and movement are emphasized. it's really a lot of fun once you get the hang of it!
my muscles were realllllllllllllllllly sore the next day tho.. D: sore as in 'i can barely walk because my muscles are sore' type sore D:

i think i caught the flu somewhere during that time because i woke up feeling really sick on monday ~_~; but i had a class to attend so i went along with it, but by the time i got off, i was shivering violently from the chills and had to take a cross harbour taxi from cwb to home ~_~; that night was the worst.. i skipped work on tuesday and rested for most of the day.. i might do that again today ~_~;

i met up with jon again today for lunch and had congee with him at our usual place. he then proceeded to hand me his hdd filled with songs which i really can't wait to get home and listen to.

current mood: sick..

re: ara: i miss you lots too! i haven't seen you on msn often :(

anime~ :D

Posted by Ling at 5:40 PM 2 comments
I've been watching a ton of anime lately, and i've realized there is a LOT of really good anime coming up this spring and from last fall~ :D

Ghost Hunt- really good ghost catching/hunting show.. you kinda can't watch it and pick out all the things that are kinda weird and incorrect, but instead have to watch it for entertainment value. there were soo many elements unexplained at the end but i enjoyed it anyway.. please make season two >_<
summary: Ghost Hunt follows the adventures of Kazuya Shibuya, the president of the Shibuya Psychic Research Center (SPR) and Mai Taniyama, a first year high school student. When Mai and her friends try to attract spirits at a creepy and decrepit high school building, they find that none of the rumoured ghosts appear. Instead, Mai and her friends meet Shibuya, the owner of Shibuya Psychic Research, who has been hired to investigate paranormal activity at the school. When Mai accidentally breaks some of Shibuya's expensive equipment, she reluctantly takes up a part-time job at the company to pay for it. Unfortunately, Mai and Shibuya do not get along at all.
Along with Shibuya's assistant, Lin, the SPR also finds itself assisted by various spirit mediums and exorcists.
25 Episodes in total.

Kamichu - this is an ADORABLE anime about a little elementary school girl who has become a god over night and her daily trials with coping with her powers and with her daily life. It's such a charming and innocent anime that was introduced to me by shirai :D the animations are adorable and the innocence of this anime really made me feel warm and fuzzy inside with each episode i've watched.
16 episodes (i've yet to finish this)

Code Geass ~ Lelouche of the rebellion- this is the famous anime with character designs by clamp and created by Sunrise(the gundam ppl). I find this anime entertaining, although i feel a 'deathnote x gundam seed' feeling to it.. just the style of the anime and not the story tho :O it's enjoyable and quite exciting at times :D however, the guy representing the 'good' side is VERY annoying and nothing like how "L" was in deathnote D:

Summary: On August 10th, 2010, a.t.b., the Holy Empire of Britannia overpowered Japanese forces and conquered the country with their robotic weapons, the Knightmare Frames, in less than a month. Japan lost its freedom and rights and was renamed Area 11, and the Japanese people are renamed "Elevens" and forced to survive in ghettos, while Britannians live in first-class settlements. Rebel elements persist, however, as pockets of Japanese organizations struggle against the Empire for the independence of Japan.
After his father, the Emperor of Britannia, did nothing to pursue the terrorists who murdered his mother and crippled his sister, a young boy named Lelouch vowed to destroy Britannia. Seven years later in Area 11, he encounters a mysterious girl who gives him the power of the Geass. With it, he finally has the power that he needs to defeat Britannia and fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister can live happily.
first season: 23 episodes (season 2 in the making)

Fafner of the Azure - i'm still in the middle of watching this; it's really really exciting! although there is a really really heavy feeling of 'evangelion' here, i think i love the idea of the whole fighting unknown beings type thing.. i'm such a sci-fi geek D: on a separate note, the music is amazing, and really reminds me of the music from esca and eva a lot... very beautiful~ i'm really excited to see how it ends...

summary: This 25-episode anime series produced by Xebec starts where much of the world had been destroyed by beings known as Festum. On a remote Japanese island called Tatsumiya, people had managed to hide themselves from the Festum using the most advanced technologies. It was the last Paradise on Earth. At last, the Festum discovered the island and began to attack. However, the adults were not unprepared. They activated shield walls and sent out a young pilot, Kazuki Makabe (真壁一騎 Makabe Kazuki), to fight the Festum using a giant robot called Fafner. This is how the story begins.
25 episodes

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchō: Tō - to be honest, i didnt' like how it was drawn in the beginning (too shounen animation-ish.. hard to explain) and it was such a 'dark' anime! however, the part about fighting demons and having special powers really interested me and i continued to watch it.. and i really enjoy it! i just finished getting the latest episodes last nite but i've yet to watch them because i was watching the anime mentioned above :P

summary: In the nights of Tokyo, mysterious deaths involving the 'Reborn Dead' occur. People that are disappearing at night suddenly reappear during the day as a corpse. Not only that, but as the corpses are sent to the morgue to be autopsied, they disappear again leaving signs showing that they escaped themselves.
To fight these 'Reborn Dead' and to prevent more deaths, mysterious transfer student, Tatsuma Hiyuu, and delinquent student, Kyouichi Houraiji, stays up every night to fight and solve what's causing this. Along with the rest of their group, who all have supernatural powers, they soon realize that a greater threat, which involves even more powerful demons, is near.
(that's basically what the first eps are about but the story changes into wondering WHERE these powerful demons are all coming from :D)

Heroic Age - this is another sci-fi anime that has just started earlier this month in Japan. I like everything about it so far, but as I've only seen the first episode, there's a lot I dont' understand about the story yet.

Summary: After an advanced race, the Golden Tribe, left the universe, the human race became threatened with extinction. The Silver Tribe has long since been the most dominant race in the universe. The young princess, Dianeira, of the Iron Tribe, searches for the one that have been mentioned in her family's history; the one that holds the power to save her people. This person she looks for is the only human who has been raised by the Golden Tribe, before their departure from the universe. After her ship and crew reaches the ruined planet, Oron, which holds the one she's looking for, they're attacked by the Bronze Tribe. Right before the attack, they come in contact with a young boy named "Age" (Eiji), who may hold the secrets to their salvation.

Saiunkoku no monogatari - i love this anime!!! it's set in a ancient China-like place and is drawn beautifully, has interesting characters and a great storyline. I'm awaiting season 2 right now and i have a feeling its' going to be even better~ it is often compared with other similar setting anime such as fushigi yuugi, but as a person who used to "fangirl" all over that anime, i know it's really different, and i prefer Saiunkoku MUCH more.. it's just an overall uplifting anime.. can't wait for se02!!!

Summary: The story, which takes place in the fictional medieval empire of Saiunkoku, follows the adventures of Shuurei Kou, a descendent of a noble family that has fallen on hard times. Her father serves as librarian in the Imperial palace, a post which offers prestige and respect but little compensation. Shuurei teaches in the temple school and works odd jobs to make ends meet, but her dream is to pass the imperial examinations and take a post in government, a path forbidden to women. Shuurei's plans come to an abrupt halt when the Emperor's Grand Advisor makes a startling offer: join the imperial household for six months as the young Emperor's consort, and teach the Emperor to be a responsible ruler. If she succeeds, the financial reward will be great. The story details Shuurei's growing relationships with the Emperor and other members of the court, the intrigues that surround imperial politics, and Shuurei's commitment to better herself and her country.

First season: 39 Episodes + 2 specials (second season coming soon)

that's it for my report on anime for now :D

off to dinner soon XD

current mood:

re: nicole ~ try to watch some of these anime.. i think it is 'our style' (esp. for saiunkoku!!).. about the 'syndrome' i described, you just need to come visit me :P and soon! must go shopping with you...

re: j9: wow, are you sure you're left handed guitar person?! you should still learn and become even better than jay! but i know your feeling.. my brother in law plays the guitar and his electric guitars are all taunting me.. but about the ricky thing, he offered to but i only learnt from Jon (if u remember him that is..).. i had that girlie giggle when u said the 'offered lesson' thing tho, if u get what i mean hahaha brings back old funny memories...

re: anonymous~ hmm it depends on which year you knew me and how well you knew me because i have changed but not for a few years:O my change came mostly after i went into university and met certain ppl who showed me and taught me about a LOT of things.. and i realize now that i'm a happy-go-lucky, really optimistic, and take everything as lightly as possible XD i wonder when i'll see you too.. you really need to sign your name :P

another weekend over...

Posted by Ling at 3:17 PM 3 comments
the lovely four day work week ended quickly but so did the weekend that came after it~ D: i slept late on both days but had to wake up early (around 10-11am ish), making me really really really tired today =__________=;;

on saturday i had a really realaxing guitar lesson outside (we have very informal lessons hehe) with my teacher/friend... i kinda realized then that i was comfortable with him not just cuz he was my friend but because of his easy-going, relaxed attitude towards life. i am very much like that myself (i think i take nothing overly seriously haha...) so to see it in other people made me realize that it is how we look at life that decides how much pressure we have and how happy we are with it~ verrrry deep stuff haha...

afterwards i went back to festival walk and bought a ton of snacks from 'okashi land' (i think that's what it's called?) as they had a bunch of 'limited edition' seasonal type snacks :D my favorite? cookies and cream 'acorn' as seen here:

after i went home, my sis and i cooked dinner together and lg718 came over for it :D we played wii and ps3 afterwards and i think it was doing that one right after the other that made me so dizzy i had to stop play gundam musou after awhile @.@ i literally couldnt even look at the tv and ended up letting lg718 play the whole mission himself XD (which is annoying because of how many enemies u gotta kill alone)~

on sunday i woke up early to drink tea with my family as my dad was back from toronto :D we hadn't done that in a longgg while, and as usual, my dad had the 'just back from toronto, long time not in hk' syndrome, where he said everything tasted very good but the portions were small. i think anyone who isn't in HK for a long period of time gets this @.@;;
i went on a shopping spree with lg718 after XD we were supposed to buy clothing for his sis and mom but i ended up buying two one piece dresses, a tshirt, more snacks, one part of lg718's birthday gift and my favorite magazine all in one shot @.@;;
we had dinner with a family friend that we've known for AGES.. it was her birthday and a big bunch of us went to this lovely korean restaurant at Lee's Garden in cwb for dinner. i love korean food :D~~ but the night passed by too fast and it was time to go home and prepare for work soon -____-;

on a side note, i'm starting my japanese lessons again :D i can finally take the level 2 test at the end of the year (i SOOOOOooooooooooooo regret not taking it back when i was still in university so that i'd have that under my belt already bleh..) but i'm kind of worried that because i haven't used my japanese in awhile that i'll be super behind and need a LOT of time to review it all again... @.@
i'll be starting street jazz classes this saturday as well with my sister! i just need to motivate myself to do pilates at least 2-3 times a week at home now and i'll be good. it's difficult when i get off work so late ~_~;

however, everything seems to be working well :D i'm taking courses in things i enjoy (music and language and dancing) AND i'm able to see old friends and spend time with family etc. as well!

current mood: feeling fulfilled and proud of myself (for now.. :P)

re: nic: i think i have 16 last time i counted but i might be off... my sister is complaining about how they're taking up my room and the two larger ones on my bed are forcing me off soon...
thanks for sending me mio's mii!! another way to communicate with you, wifey!!

re: ms/mr anonymous: i wasn't busy D: just that i didn't have anything especially exciting to write about.. till now XD thanks for your support x3

from lg718, bought yesterday 8 April 2007! this is the other 'miffy's vegetables' miffy :D

and with mushroom miffy:

both are sitting on top of the new novel i'm reading.. 'tigana' by guy gasvriel kay (i'm definite i spelt part of his name wrong).. i think i read one of his books back in highschool (lent to me by a friend; i loved it a lot but for some reason forgot the name of the book and author..) and so i decided to try another one of the novels in this collection :D i'm craving for good fantasy type books, so anyone who has suggestions, please let me know!!

current mood: nuuuu back to work tomorrow...................................

lovely becky and me~

thomas (haha.... we usually refer to him as 'dad' as he's the one that pays the bill and we pay him back afterwards...)

philip and me~ (he's my sydney planner helper person XD)

it was sooo much fun singing with them as, although they're older, they don't act like it and are a LOT of fun to be around~ and best was the room had an awesome sound system and it sounded like i was singing live with each song!

on tuesday, had a great dinner with ricky and jon and justin (who stopped by for a short while)~

jon, me and justin:

jon me and ricky (for all those who haven't seen these guys in awhile, no they haven't changed hahaha....)

its soo much fun to just sit and relax and talk with a bunch of friends you've known for like 10+ years... and to realize that no matter what, they won't change .. at least not much haha~

current mood: :D long weekend XD

EAS 320 (?) reunion :D

Posted by Ling at 5:39 PM 2 comments
i dont really remember if the course was actually called eas320.. but anyway, wednesday night i met up with some old school friends from the modern standard japanese classes i took back at UT! as EAS320 was the last course that everyone took together before going our separate ways, i guess that's what our group is called?

philip had called me a few days before, telling me that justin was visiting hk for a few days (he's now in japan teaching english to .. get this.. all girl highschool... i think that's the dream of every guy out there hahaha), and he wanted to grab a bunch of us to get together. unfortunately hannah couldn't make it ; ; and a bunch of other ppl (ie. king, mandy, erica etc) were all scattered across asia and canada so they weren't there.. however, we went to this fantastic place in tst where we ate really lovely beijing (style?) food, and basically caught up with each other since we parted ways a few years ago! a surprise was that macy, who JUST came back from japan, was able to make it as well!

i have to admit, i was kinda worried that there would be a little awkwardness, as we hadn't talked/seen each other in a LONG time.. but there was no awkward moments or pauses at all and it just seemed like we got off class together and were having dinner~

reminds me of how awesome my university days are... i kind of wish i can go back now and re-live/re-experience the life then, because i realize how childish i was at times and REALLY regret not putting more effort into my studies ~_~; (ie. i'm famous for sleeping in class).. i think back and i remember that my "record" is for that psych class about relationships, where it was two days a week, three hour lectures each time.. and i only went to it twice, once for a test and the other time for only half the lesson... thank goodness for wonderful friends like king. it was from deciphering his notes that i realized i'd make a good assistant to him in the future when he becomes a (famous?) eye doctor!

after dinner, it was kind of sad to say bye to justin, because he'd be going back to toronto some time after his JET program was over and it really WAS him that brought this reunion together~ however, i know that friendship-wise.. nothing will change for sure~

me and justin:

philip, justin, me, macy:

group pic~

current mood: nostalgic?

ps: ah gor ken, nic wifey etc. : need to have a UT reunion! "eddie" (aka 'brandon' now i think?! hahaha) is in hk, and so is ricky etc. we need to re-live our UT times!

pps: raven i miss you a lot these days! really thinking about you (not sure why ~_~ i think the earthquake in your area scared me a bit, as i realized that for once, it happened in an area where a good friend was living -.-;;;) lately~ hope i can see you soon!

ppps: cylyna.. hope u're having/will have fun on your 'road trip'! remember, i need the juicy details when u get back!!

pppps: wilson/richter, sorry ; ; i've been leaving msn on but i havent really been there.. hope we can chat soon :O hope u're doing well :D

a new addition to the miffy family :D

Posted by Ling at 4:13 PM 3 comments
the weekend was very humid and hot D: on saturday i stayed mostly at home then went out at night with friends (din etc). on sunday i woke up early (compared to what time i woke up on the previous day :P) and went to drink tea with lg718 and siblings~ we had a really nice tea at 'chui hang chuen' at miramar shopping center and i went to MK afterwards to look at toys with lg718~

it was there that i found out that the newest 'miffy' stuffed toys are coming out with a 'miffy's vegetables' line, where they have mushrooms and carrots that are labelled 'miffy's vegetables' and also stuffed dolls of miffy holding a basketful of mushrooms or carrots! so adorable! lg718 got me the smallest version:

which is definitely the cutest... the basket can be taken off too XD so cute!!

my collection is growing... D: i'm not sure how many miffys i have offhand but... the collection is getting quite large now ~_~;;

current mood: no explanation necessary ^-^

boring week -__-;

Posted by Ling at 11:25 AM 2 comments
as it was a VERY boring week since i got back from sydney, i havent' been able to find ANYTHING to post about!

however, a few happy things cheered up the gloomy week for me:

I received the chocolate package from cylyna!! (shown below... the dark chocolate isn't showing here tho as it's at work :D~~ )

thanks dear, the chocolates are amazing, even the dark chocolate one! i don't normally like dark chocolate, as it's a little bitter for my taste, but this type was really, really good! it's made so that you can taste the bitterness slightly but it isn't totally offsetting the chocolatey taste~ and of course, my favorite is the blue box of chocolate.... my bro in law has started to say that this is the best chocolate he's ever tasted, and is better than the 'royce' chocolate we usually buy from Japan~ i have yet to try the other chocolate but i'm resisting the urge to open all of them, and instead force myself to finish it all one by one~

i went sports clothing shopping with lg718 this weekend and am really amazed at how beautiful sports clothing (for women) are now! i don't buy sports clothing often (except for my pilates/dance classes once in half a year or something.. maybe not even lol) and realize that people are really making sports clothing into a whole different thing now~ like i always say, it's easiest to make money off females because of all the different clothing/beauty products out there~
my favorite is the stella mccartney collection at adidas +_+

new thing at office: my boss recently purchased a few oil paintings from this well-known chinese painter tha paints really lively scenery and people~ my manager and i had helped choose a few, and i was lucky enough to be able to choose the one that is to hang on my left side. as my computer is angled, i can always see the painting to my left.. and it really makes this dreary office SLIGHTLY better...

but not much -_-;

looking forward to easter holiday!!

current mood: bored :(

ps: re: comment from cylyna~ haha i can't believe you noticed the 'lingfish' thing!!! you know what? you're the ONLY person who came back with a comment about that.. and my bf laughed and laughed.. obviously he was the one that took that picture.. you crabs!! so similar!
about the wombat.. somehow i knew vicky and i would have similar 'taste' haha... remember we're your personal surround sound system!! can't wait till you're in hk.. hope you enjoy your 'trip'!! remember details!!!

pps: just got back from playing mj with friends.. i lost badly -_________-; i just knew it wasn't my night but i went to play anyway and i regret it :( oh well, like lg718 said, it's just for fun and stuff so i shouldn't be sad~ but still -___-; i feel stupid at what i did...

back from sydney :D

Posted by Ling at 11:34 PM 3 comments
just came back from Sydney! i had so much fun :( i didn't want to come back.. the weather was absolutely gorgeous there! the people were really really really friendly (i think it has something to do with their accents... it's so high pitched and cheerful!) and i love how everything is multicultural and overall fun~

i'm a little exhausted from telling everyone how my trip went, so to sum it off i'll list the major things i did:

1. taronga zoo - i love the zoo XD it's so fun! it reminds me of how i used to have to go to the toronto zoo back in elementary school and.. i remember how it kinda sucked haha.. in comparison, the zoo in sydney is a LOT more fun and has a lot more variety in animals.. especially including my cylyna's favorite, the koala! (more pics in my photo album~) we went there early after a breakfast at our hotel and then took the ferry across to the zoo~ it was such a beautiful day XD we took this 'sky safari' car up to the zoo and had a great time wandering around.. how come zoos in toronto sucks D:.. we paid to take a close up pic with that adorable koala (which apparently we can't touch or it'll become very very scary and attack us or something.. so dont' ask me why it's sleeping!)~

my favorite animal at the zoo aside from this adorable koala are the wombats! they're... bear/pig/thingie that just looks so cute :D i'm not sure how to describe it other than that XD it kind of resembles a beaver close up but.. it's somehow cuter (though i've yet to see a live beaver in toronto.. haha)

(a shot from behind.. too many kids were petting it i couldnt' get close up ; ;)

2. the rocks market - i love this area! after the zoo we had gone to the rocks and walked along the harbour side looking for a restaurant~ after lunch, we went to take pics of the bridge, opera house etc, and went to the market area, where there were a TON of things to look at.. it was crowded but very very nice~ we bought a lot of presents for friends and also a few souvenirs for ourselves. as i really love wooden things, i was glad there were many cute items made out of australian wood for me to buy :D

3. fish market - loveee the fresh seafood here.. we took an early cab to eat lunch here and enjoyed all that lovely salmon, kingfish and swordfish sashimi.. :D~~ we also ate a lot of lobster , shrimp etc too.. thinking back makes my mouth water again.. ~_~! the best part was how they cook the seafood or cut it fresh for you on the spot :D~~ compared to the sashimi in toronto and HK, australia definitely has fresher tasting fish~

4. aquarium - i love it.. (err how many times have i said i love something...)i love the underwater tunnels that let you 'live' the experience of being underwater.. so beautiful ; ; i pet a shark (it has this weird texture but i think the cutest part was how it was sleeping and didnt budge XD ) and also a few starfish~ i loveeee how the beautiful tiny jelly fish were swimming around the tank, and how delicate each part of them were :O

i just love sydney a lot.. everything is soooo laid back.. i met this guy in the LV store near the area i lived in, and we just kept on talking and talking like old friends! i wish i got his email so that we could keep in contact but unfortunately we were in a hurry and i didn't manage to do that :( (i think yuu would be someone like that in real life.. Yuu where are you!!) everyone is just so nice and helpful that i'm surprised i liked it better than toronto~ maybe i just got used to the people in HK and how rude they are so had forgotten that not all people were like that..
after coming back to HK, i realize how people rush around and stuff ... sigh -.-;

however, back to work.. sigh... hope everyone likes the souvenirs i got :O for more pics you acn check out my photo book again ^-^

i've yet to open that kangaroo jerky i got to share with my family.. i wonder how it'll taste... /sweat/

current mood: i don't wanna go back to work D:

old friends :D

Posted by Ling at 9:57 PM 3 comments
i met up with jon and ricky yesterday! i'm not going to go into details of why i was late (i feel so so so so so sorry for being late when i was the one who said i could arrive earlier ~_~;; so sorry....), as i've gone thru it with them, and some other friends, already (i'm actually still fuming over it.. damnit why do ppl not try to attempt to make it easier on other people and work as a TEAM!!!!) but i was glad i managed to meet up with them! i hadn't seen jon in about 2.5 years and ricky about 6-7 years! it's been such a longgg time but although we haven't seen each other often, it still seemed like just yesterday when we talked/met up... i'm so glad i joined facebook! thanks mabel/raven!
anyway we met up at tst and ate dinner there.. dinner was a lot of fun as we joked around and caught up with each other.. i wish we had more time to chat but it was already kind of late and we all had to go to work the next day.. but, we'll get more chances to meet up again soon! i'll post pics when i can get jon to send them to me... (which is whenever he makes an attempt to pass his hdd to me so i can grab some songs as well...)~

anyway what jon said was true.. there will be certain close friends who, no matter how long, or how often, you see each other.. whether it be a year, five years or whatever, they will remain the same and there's never any awkwardness or need to keep in contact to be 'close'! it was definitely like that with ricky and jon last nite.. and like i said to them, after u've been working for awhile, you kinda realize that no matter how 'friends' you are with your colleagues, not all have the same 'substance' or 'closeness' as people you've met in school (usually that is... ray is different and has become my brother as well as ex-colleague!)~ i'm ever so thankful i met them again and realize that i'm not "alone" or distanced from people in HK and that they're here as well.. (ok i better stop before i become overly sentimental and go ramble on about friendship..) kind of like reassuring me that although i will meet ppl that change.. there are certain ppl who will always be the same~

end of the chinese new year :( officially it was on sunday that it was the 'last day', but i still can't believe it went by so fast! i got my final red pocket of this year on sunday after drinking tea and immediately went to open it up when i got home :P i took a pic of all the red pockets i received this year a few days ago.. but the pile looks so small without a few people's (especially my mom/dad's) red pockets D: (i was also too lazy to re-take it after i got a few more red pockets so.. there's supposed to be a few more X3)

my favorite ones are from my sis which is located at the top of the pile x3 they're the 'soft hard' special lai see pockets :D

two more days till sydney!!!! i'm so excited.. thanks to my wonderful coworker who's helping me and teaching me where to go, i'm even more excited :D i can't wait to ditch this awful place, even if it's only for a short while XD

current mood: XD excited...

PS: nic, take more 'ji pak' pics of mio!!!! she's absolutely gorgeous in those pics (haha kind of like friendster pics?!?!)!!
and remember to send me links to those bands u want me to listen to!!! thirsting for good music here!

my bro in law got a new game a few nights ago, the Gundam Musou game that I've been waiting for a few weeks on PS3! for those who've played the dynasty warriors version, this is exactly the same except nicer graphics and the gameplay is a little more like the Gundam Seed action game than the Dynasty Warriors one. but the armor, attack increase items etc are all there! they also changed it a bit so that your pilot and your gundam have levels where their skills change when increased :D and you can combine parts you pick up from fighting bosses into your gundam to improve armor, defense, attack etc~

the only things i dont like is the way the screen is so tiny when split in 2p gameplay so it's very tiring to look at when playing for awhile, and how they give out commands in conversations during the game~ it's confusing when you first play it because you're trying to control your gundam but also pay attention to what you have to do by listening to the conversation @.@ the missions range from destroying certain enemies, to keeping home base safe to taking over territory (or "Fields" as they call it)~

i really liked how i was able to use pilots like Heero and pilot his Gundam Wing zero :D (one of my favorite gundams) and going against Zechs or other past gundam pilots (ie. amuro! he was in the first gundam series/anime i ever watched!!! in 1987 i think?).. for the Heero story i was playing, i had missions where i went against amuro and a few others (earth vs. colonies all over again)~ i cant' wait till i can pilot Freedom and Justice :D

tons of fun and definitely recommended to those who have a ps3! i haven't really played many of the ps3 games aside from tekken and virtual fighter (i'm so-so about versus fighting games anyway) so it's definitely my favorite so far..
but.. i can't wait till ffxiii!!

pictures of and from the game (from play asia website)

current mood: love this game XD (but my wrist + thumb hurts..)

another test - the 9 personality types!

Posted by Ling at 4:29 PM 2 comments
thanks to raven, i got it off her blog :D http://www.9types.com/rheti/homepage.actual.html

i actually scored the same score (7) on two types! type 2 and type 7.. reading through the two, i guess I'm a mix between them, but i really think i'm more of a 7 than a 2.. have fun! (lots of stuff written here for anyone who's interested haha)~

type 2:
The Helper (the Two)

Helpers are warm, concerned, nurturing, and sensitive to other people's needs.

How to Get Along with Me

  • Tell me that you appreciate me. Be specific.
  • Share fun times with me.
  • Take an interest in my problems, though I will probably try to focus on yours.
  • Let me know that I am important and special to you.
  • Be gentle if you decide to criticize me.

What I Like About Being a Two

  • being able to relate easily to people and to make friends
  • knowing what people need and being able to make their lives better
  • being generous, caring, and warm
  • being sensitive to and perceptive about others' feelings
  • being enthusiastic and fun-loving, and having a good sense of humor

What's Hard About Being a Two

  • not being able to say no
  • having low self-esteem
  • feeling drained from overdoing for others
  • not doing things I really like to do for myself for fear of being selfish
  • criticizing myself for not feeling as loving as I think I should
  • being upset that others don't tune in to me as much as I tume in to them
  • working so hard to be tactful and considerate that I suppress my real feelings

type 7:
The Adventurer (the Seven)

Adventurers are energetic, lively, and optimistic. They want to contribute to the world.

How to Get Along with Me

  • Give me companionship, affection, and freedom.
  • Engage with me in stimulating conversation and laughter.
  • Appreciate my grand visions and listen to my stories.
  • Don't try to change my style. Accept me the way I am.
  • Be responsible for youself. I dislike clingy or needy people.
  • Don't tell me what to do.

What I Like About Being a Seven

  • being optimistic and not letting life's troubles get me down
  • being spontaneous and free-spirited
  • being outspoken and outrageous. It's part of the fun.
  • being generous and trying to make the world a better place
  • having the guts to take risks and to try exciting adventures
  • having such varied interests and abilities

What's Hard About Being a Seven

  • not having enough time to do all the things I want
  • not completing things I start
  • not being able to profit from the benefits that come from specializing; not making a commitment to a career
  • having a tendency to be ungrounded; getting lost in plans or fantasies
  • feeling confined when I'm in a one-to-one relationship

current mood: very very bored on a monday afternoon...

facebook :D

thanks to raven, mabel, and wifey nic for introducing me to facebook :D not because i met new friends but because i realized that a lot of my really really good friends (yay i found my 'bestest friend' and ricky too :P) from highschool and some friends from UT have moved back to HK!

it's kind of addictive.. D:

it's the sixth day of the lunar new year D: which means that the holiday festive-ness in hong kong is about to end ~_~; i really enjoyed the happy holiday mood but when monday comes along, i'll be once again cramped in the mtr and have tons and tons of work to do D:...
BUT.. the sixth day is also my lunar calendar bday!!
so happy birthday to me~
when i was younger, i used to celebrate both 'normal' and lunar calendar bdays D: all those cakes and presents... D:

however... two weeks to sydney trip!!

wifey: i keep writing a msg in your blog each day.. since you blog every day, it seems like we're sharing the secret notebook again!! we need to keep this up....

randomly listening to: mika's nana album, yuna's first album, hirai ken's ep (all of them are so-so i think...)
any good music to recommend?

last night i went to watch 'Night At The Museum' (damn i had to look up the name in english because HK sucks in that they advertise the movie name in chinese.. and the chinese name either doesn't make sense, is irrelevant to the plot of the movie, or is a direct 'pin yin' of the english title name...so i end up never knowing what the movies that come out are called unless i've heard of it in some english news previously...) with lg718.. yes i know it's going to be one of those really silly comedies that make no sense and have a really stupid plot.. BUT. i enjoyed it.. i think it's something about the chinese new year where you dont' really care what you watch as long as you get some laughs out of it.. and laugh i did. a lot. so i'm glad i watched it... it has a bit of the 'pirates of the caribbean 2' type humour (although less funny and no johnny depp and i didn't laugh till i was crying..) and is great for when you dont' want to think so much! (it was either this or another 'the departed (chinese ver.)' chinese spin off..)

i want to watch nana 2! not for the new hachi but for the new shin and reira! my favorite charas~

current mood: nearly lunchtime :D italian food at soho :D~~

Happy Chinese New Year :D

Posted by Ling at 1:43 AM 3 comments
happy year of the boar :D

17th - had a lovely home cooked dinner (yay for cold crab!! :D~~), then went out to a small flower market to buy flowers and food with lg718 :D we had tons of fun selecting random flowers to bring home~ we stayed at home for the count down as well (to cny) and had some snacks and lovely chiu chow tea afterwards~

my favorite is that purple ball-ish flower.. so adorable :D
my sis also happened to go to the larger flower market in cwb and bought the candy blow up toy that i kept seeing from tv! it's adorable XD she bought the large watermelon one (i wanted the strawberry one D: .. but it's ok XD).. it's HUGE...

from the front (sorry the lighting at home is terrible so it's kind of blurry :x) :

from the side XD:

18th - chinese new year!! as part of HK tradition, i had purchased a new coat and a whole outfit to wear for the first day of the new year (from head to toe XD). however, the weather was abnormally warm (around 25 degrees omg) so i ended up wearing this other outfit i had planned to wear later in the springtime, a cute short sleeved one piece gray dress :D
i had a nice lunchtime tea with my sis' husband's relatives and then went to shop around with lg718.. we went home afterwards and then visited his aunt and had dinner there too.. they then came over afterwards and played cards till late XD

random pics XD sorry about the colour, they were taken with the fluorescent lights on XD

lg718 who was playing nds but forced to take a pic XD

19th - second day of the new year, i stayed home in the morning because i had slept late the day before and we ended up watching this chinese movie ( it's kinda blah.. not too good)... afterwards i went to 'bai lin' at my great aunt's house (wow she's amazing.. she's in her nineties but very healthy and alart...) and i had a really good time.. this year my bro in law went for the first time and we had a LOT of laughs (especially considering how my bro in law is quite frank when speaking /sweat/.. there was an adorable toy poodle there that looked like a big bear! i was wearing white so i got micsis and my bro 'to borrow' her from the owner to play with for a bit.. her/his name is "piggy" (ju jai) and was such a good puppy we didn't want to give her back XD she didn't bark or get overly scared from strangers holding her! we managed to take some cute pics of her :D

ronbro (who looks good but the puppy wasn't looking at the camera lol):

me and micsis~ this is the ONLY pic that the pup looked straight at the camera and that was because the owner's brother was getting her attention and helping us guide her eyes to the camera!

20th - third day of CNY.. basically woke up early to drink tea with lg718's family and spent the whole day at his place playing mj/card games XD i also played a bit of MJ on my nds and managed to go from level four, to getting three orbs into 'green dragon' level! that's raising about five and a half levels @.@;; it all came from this one east round of mj, where i got the largest (i have no idea what i did really.. i gotta post the name of what i put together) amount possible.. 48,000 @.@;; i basically won the round second game into the round @.@;; craaazy~

21st - back to work today ~_~ but.. i got a few red pockets from my coworkers and boss! so all is happy~ will post a picture of my "victories" later mwahah~ like i wrote in nic's blog, i feel like i really 發過豬頭 because even though not all of the red pockets contain a LOT of money, i received a lot of them, so all those envelopes make me feel good ~ xD

happy chinese new year again~
