i finally got my memory card from lg718 so i could post some of the pics we took last week for his bday :D there aren't many of them (and most are actually really bad quality; i think i'm spoiled by silly's lovely camera...) but here they are~

i finally picked harry potter up on saturday.. i had this frightening image of random kids attacking me after i got it so i resisted the urge to read it the moment i got on the ferry XD it's quite exciting but... i'm shocked at few things in the beginning.. i'm not gonna say why of course but i hope the book ends well D: i'm really going to miss reading this.. it's such an easy, fun read!

raven~ haha i hope you can see the yellow dress in the above pics! it's not a colour i used to enjoy wearing (i think you'd remember haha) but i love it now :D i miss talking to you! which day exactly will you be in HK again? i'm really excited to see you!

Happy birthday!

it's actually his lunar calendar birthday today, but as i was busy the whole week, i didnt' have time to blog 'happy birthday' the day of his 'normal' birthday.. so happy birthday :D

lots to recap... i guess with all the work i have to do and all the people i have to see, it's been verrrrry hectic ~_~;; hopefully the major stuff is over and i can relax a bit...

14 July ~ went to singk with some friends in the afternoon, then had dinner with din, silly, and lg718 as an 'advance' birthday celebration! we went to 'fat angelos' ' in tst (italian food), and it was soo much fun.. i think the best thing is being able to just relax and being around people you love best!
afterwards we went to sky lounge in sheraton, as recommended by ray. it was so beautiful there! we managed to get a lovely seaview window seat as well, so it was even better~ the atmosphere is very good there~ we ordered some red wine (new zealand! which was okay.. it smelled REALLY nice but it was so-so when drinking it) and some small snacks to go with it and just talked and talked. time passed by so fast :(

15 july - i watched harry potter @ tst with silly and w~ it was pretty good (i loveee this theatre :D) and i guess the reason why it was pretty good was because this book didn't talk much about anything and therefore, less events needed to be edited out. The editing was so bad in the last movie that people who hadn't read the book before had no idea what was going on! but that was also because the last book had a LOT of stuff that went on.
(on a side note, the last book is coming out tomorrow! i'm going to have to go out earlier in the morning so hopefully i'll have time to pick it up before i meet up with silly for mandarin. i'm worried that it won't meet expectations or i'll feel 'empty' like i always do after finishing a good series but.. i'll look forward to it regardless!)

fast forward to 18 july, lg718's birthday ~ i took 1.5 days off, so left at lunch :D (why is it that when you go to work and take half day off that there's alot more work to do than there is normally?!?!) i finallly had a chance to wear my bright yellow dress (which i bought four months ago)! it's getting waay too hot.. after picking up the cake at tst harbour, i went to his place and helped decorate his flat with balloons etc. with w... it took some time but we did surprise him when he got back :P
we had dinner at sushi hiro (note: not "hero" as my brother pronounced..... i had this image of a superhero with a sushi drawn on his chest...) and spent a lot of time chatting about random things.. i think the best birthdays are celebrated doing nothing that's extraordinary special, but just special enough :D (will post pics when i get them from him... it's all back at his place)

19 july ~ we were supposed to wake up early to drink tea but never made it (haha.. as expected)... after going out to do some random things, we went out to The Peninsula @ tst for our half-buffet dinner at The Verandah. it was absolutely gorgeous there! i think The Peninsula is definitely one of my favorite hotels (my other one being IC, as they have these gorgeous seaview rooms facing central side :D), mostly due to how old it is. the lobby is beautiful~ the dinner was lovely too, being 'semi-buffet' because the appetizers and seafood and desserts were all buffet while the main course was chosen from a list. they had alaskan king crab legs (my favorite ::heart::) that actually had a LOT of meat (like the ones i eat in toronto) and a lot of salmon as well, so you can kind of guess how that meal went :P we had a beautiful cake afterwards that we were too full to eat, so they packed it up for us :D

i'm back at work today :( we have a company buffet dinner tonight but.... more buffet D:.. kind of worried haha.. but we have bowling and mj and of course, cards, so it'll be something to look forward at least XD

very randomly...

i've just been super super super busy for the past few days since i came back from sanya ~_~;; with people flying back from toronto, going out with friends that i realized had moved back, seeing plays, going to classes etc. i've been to busy to update much :(

for a quick recap (honestly i barely remembered what i did in the past week...), i went to see the HK version of "the vagina monologues"! it was realllly entertaining and i laughed so much my stomach hurt D:... i had a really great time and i love how this play, although translated into another language, still has a distinct "HK flavour" to it so that it doesn't really feel like a translation :D i told micsis and RB and they both went to watch it on tuesday~

weekend was really nice and slow, shopping with lg718 and his fam and then lounging lazily at home on sunday.. i really feel like i need more of this type of time as i've been doing stuff every night after work since i've been back~ getting home at 11pm every night and going to work the next day is really tiring :( (it's not a really late time, but when u get home, u shower, wander around the house, go online etc. and time flies by!)

mon - japanese, tues - dinner, wed - dinner with ray and lovely irene, thurs - mandarin, fri - art gallery with silly (which is today :D), sat - K & dinner & lounge, sun - Harry potter.
i am so thankful it's such beautiful weather every day and there's lots of sunshine :D it's hot but i prefer it hot to raining and gross D:

about sunday.. Harry Potter day :D i actually wanted to see it at the new Imax 3D theatre but it's crazily booked till July 31.. FULLY booked D: as in no single seats even! so i had to settle with one of the better theatres in HK, the one at Harbourcity :D i heard reviews for it weren't good but i think most people are watching it so that they can see how the words they were translate into real life! the show we chose is at 12:45 (all others were booked) so.. that means no sleeping in for me.. sigh~

will take pics etc of the weekend course :D

Constantly wearing a portable music player, such as an iPod, may be the next stage in evolution for some members of our species. But Mother Nature apparently does not approve.

A letter to the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM) from doctors at Vancouver General Hospital in Canada relates the case of a 37-year-old man, brought to the emergency room of the hospital after being hit by lightning while jogging and listening to his iPod. The lightning first hit a nearby tree before reaching him, and witnesses said he was thrown about eight feet.

trip to sanya, hainan~

I've been back for a few days and i miss the blue skies, hot sand and relaxing oceanside!

after eating a great dinner with silly and her family/friends on her birthday, she slept over at my place so that we could leave together for our trip. so...on June 30 we flew to Sanya, Hainan! as she's only working a summer job, she didn't have any annual leave so the only long weekend we had to go on holiday was the june30~july2 weekend.

as the flight times for dragonair (the only airliner that would fly to sanya from HK) were terrible and were fully booked, we decided to go to shenzhen airport to fly to sanya instead!
lets just say, it was quite an experience haha... i've never done it before and we were super early so had a lot of time on our hands~

after a short 1 hr flight (with a meal @.@;;), we landed in lovely sanya! it was raining in HK/shenzhen when we left but it wasn't in sanya :D

day 1 ~ i must tell about day 1 in detail.. haha we rented a taxi for the day (we got him to go from rmb 200 full day to rmb 100 full day haha.. all due to silly's amazing mandarin skills.. i was the '軍師' and directed/discussed with her in whispers) and went to the beautiful lan tien hot springs~ they have MANY hotsprings but our favorite has got to be the fishy one! the fishy 'kiss' your body, and is supposed to good for your skin.. lets just say it feels really ticklish and its a natural reaction to jerk your foot/arm etc away! they didn't like kissing me (they tried and then ignored me after i jerked away haha...) as they had silly to 'kiss' haha.. they ignored me while i just sat there so i took pics of selini and the fishies instead!
we had din back at the hotel and basically walked around the resort and beach at night~ ((we got upgraded from a 'normal' seaview room to a deluxe seaview room XD )

day 3 ~ relax, more ocean and beach XD and then pool time, random pictures and lounging by our favorite 'cafe', before the endless pool (as will be seen in the pictures to come)... i miss that place already :( then afterwards, fly back home :(
