I've been watching a ton of anime lately, and i've realized there is a LOT of really good anime coming up this spring and from last fall~ :D
Ghost Hunt- really good ghost catching/hunting show.. you kinda can't watch it and pick out all the things that are kinda weird and incorrect, but instead have to watch it for entertainment value. there were soo many elements unexplained at the end but i enjoyed it anyway.. please make season two >_<
summary: Ghost Hunt follows the adventures of Kazuya Shibuya, the president of the Shibuya Psychic Research Center (SPR) and Mai Taniyama, a first year high school student. When Mai and her friends try to attract spirits at a creepy and decrepit high school building, they find that none of the rumoured ghosts appear. Instead, Mai and her friends meet Shibuya, the owner of Shibuya Psychic Research, who has been hired to investigate paranormal activity at the school. When Mai accidentally breaks some of Shibuya's expensive equipment, she reluctantly takes up a part-time job at the company to pay for it. Unfortunately, Mai and Shibuya do not get along at all.
Along with Shibuya's assistant, Lin, the SPR also finds itself assisted by various spirit mediums and exorcists.
25 Episodes in total.
Kamichu - this is an ADORABLE anime about a little elementary school girl who has become a god over night and her daily trials with coping with her powers and with her daily life. It's such a charming and innocent anime that was introduced to me by shirai :D the animations are adorable and the innocence of this anime really made me feel warm and fuzzy inside with each episode i've watched.
16 episodes (i've yet to finish this)
Code Geass ~ Lelouche of the rebellion- this is the famous anime with character designs by clamp and created by Sunrise(the gundam ppl). I find this anime entertaining, although i feel a 'deathnote x gundam seed' feeling to it.. just the style of the anime and not the story tho :O it's enjoyable and quite exciting at times :D however, the guy representing the 'good' side is VERY annoying and nothing like how "L" was in deathnote D:
Summary: On August 10th, 2010, a.t.b., the Holy Empire of Britannia overpowered Japanese forces and conquered the country with their robotic weapons, the Knightmare Frames, in less than a month. Japan lost its freedom and rights and was renamed Area 11, and the Japanese people are renamed "Elevens" and forced to survive in ghettos, while Britannians live in first-class settlements. Rebel elements persist, however, as pockets of Japanese organizations struggle against the Empire for the independence of Japan.
After his father, the Emperor of Britannia, did nothing to pursue the terrorists who murdered his mother and crippled his sister, a young boy named Lelouch vowed to destroy Britannia. Seven years later in Area 11, he encounters a mysterious girl who gives him the power of the Geass. With it, he finally has the power that he needs to defeat Britannia and fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister can live happily.
first season: 23 episodes (season 2 in the making)
Fafner of the Azure - i'm still in the middle of watching this; it's really really exciting! although there is a really really heavy feeling of 'evangelion' here, i think i love the idea of the whole fighting unknown beings type thing.. i'm such a sci-fi geek D: on a separate note, the music is amazing, and really reminds me of the music from esca and eva a lot... very beautiful~ i'm really excited to see how it ends...
summary: This 25-episode anime series produced by Xebec starts where much of the world had been destroyed by beings known as Festum. On a remote Japanese island called Tatsumiya, people had managed to hide themselves from the Festum using the most advanced technologies. It was the last Paradise on Earth. At last, the Festum discovered the island and began to attack. However, the adults were not unprepared. They activated shield walls and sent out a young pilot, Kazuki Makabe (真壁一騎 Makabe Kazuki), to fight the Festum using a giant robot called Fafner. This is how the story begins.

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchō: Tō - to be honest, i didnt' like how it was drawn in the beginning (too shounen animation-ish.. hard to explain) and it was such a 'dark' anime! however, the part about fighting demons and having special powers really interested me and i continued to watch it.. and i really enjoy it! i just finished getting the latest episodes last nite but i've yet to watch them because i was watching the anime mentioned above :P
summary: In the nights of Tokyo, mysterious deaths involving the 'Reborn Dead' occur. People that are disappearing at night suddenly reappear during the day as a corpse. Not only that, but as the corpses are sent to the morgue to be autopsied, they disappear again leaving signs showing that they escaped themselves.
To fight these 'Reborn Dead' and to prevent more deaths, mysterious transfer student, Tatsuma Hiyuu, and delinquent student, Kyouichi Houraiji, stays up every night to fight and solve what's causing this. Along with the rest of their group, who all have supernatural powers, they soon realize that a greater threat, which involves even more powerful demons, is near.
(that's basically what the first eps are about but the story changes into wondering WHERE these powerful demons are all coming from :D)

Heroic Age - this is another sci-fi anime that has just started earlier this month in Japan. I like everything about it so far, but as I've only seen the first episode, there's a lot I dont' understand about the story yet.
Summary: After an advanced race, the Golden Tribe, left the universe, the human race became threatened with extinction. The Silver Tribe has long since been the most dominant race in the universe. The young princess, Dianeira, of the Iron Tribe, searches for the one that have been mentioned in her family's history; the one that holds the power to save her people. This person she looks for is the only human who has been raised by the Golden Tribe, before their departure from the universe. After her ship and crew reaches the ruined planet, Oron, which holds the one she's looking for, they're attacked by the Bronze Tribe. Right before the attack, they come in contact with a young boy named "Age" (Eiji), who may hold the secrets to their salvation.
Saiunkoku no monogatari - i love this anime!!! it's set in a ancient China-like place and is drawn beautifully, has interesting characters and a great storyline. I'm awaiting season 2 right now and i have a feeling its' going to be even better~ it is often compared with other similar setting anime such as fushigi yuugi, but as a person who used to "fangirl" all over that anime, i know it's really different, and i prefer Saiunkoku MUCH more.. it's just an overall uplifting anime.. can't wait for se02!!!
Summary: The story, which takes place in the fictional medieval empire of Saiunkoku, follows the adventures of Shuurei Kou, a descendent of a noble family that has fallen on hard times. Her father serves as librarian in the Imperial palace, a post which offers prestige and respect but little compensation. Shuurei teaches in the temple school and works odd jobs to make ends meet, but her dream is to pass the imperial examinations and take a post in government, a path forbidden to women. Shuurei's plans come to an abrupt halt when the Emperor's Grand Advisor makes a startling offer: join the imperial household for six months as the young Emperor's consort, and teach the Emperor to be a responsible ruler. If she succeeds, the financial reward will be great. The story details Shuurei's growing relationships with the Emperor and other members of the court, the intrigues that surround imperial politics, and Shuurei's commitment to better herself and her country.
