cylyna, my lovely traveller 'husband'/wife/bestest friend etc is coming back to HK for the summer! i'm so glad that i'm feeling giddy all over :D i just hope that i'll be totally recovered from this stupid cold when she comes back, as i have a really terrible cough now and it's getting worse each day ~_~

i just realized that on her journey to europe she sent me postcards and tons of letters and chocolate.. just in the span of her three week vacation all over europe with a friend, she sent me three postcards:

she always makes me want to be there!!

today after my lesson at causeway bay, i passed by this lovely little display:

mini Eiffel tower :D it was quite lovely among the lights in front of times square.
i really want to see it for real someday soon!

sick with the flu~

Posted by Ling at 2:16 PM 3 comments
i haven't posted for a few days now as i was sick with the flu starting monday! because of that, i have no energy and feel sleepy all the time even though i slept for most of the day yesterday ~_~; hopefully i can leave earlier today so that i can rest (especially as my manager told me i could!)~ hope everyone can be careful and not get sick these few days..t he weather is really unpredictable ~_~

but for a quick summary.. on saturday i had my first street jazz lesson! it was a ton of fun but as most of the people probably took jazz classes, the instructor taught at a really really fast pace so half the class was behind, while the jazz people were ahead. what is street jazz? it's an informal form of jazz dancing where 'mtv style' (as they put it haha) moves are used and rhythm and movement are emphasized. it's really a lot of fun once you get the hang of it!
my muscles were realllllllllllllllllly sore the next day tho.. D: sore as in 'i can barely walk because my muscles are sore' type sore D:

i think i caught the flu somewhere during that time because i woke up feeling really sick on monday ~_~; but i had a class to attend so i went along with it, but by the time i got off, i was shivering violently from the chills and had to take a cross harbour taxi from cwb to home ~_~; that night was the worst.. i skipped work on tuesday and rested for most of the day.. i might do that again today ~_~;

i met up with jon again today for lunch and had congee with him at our usual place. he then proceeded to hand me his hdd filled with songs which i really can't wait to get home and listen to.

current mood: sick..

re: ara: i miss you lots too! i haven't seen you on msn often :(

anime~ :D

Posted by Ling at 5:40 PM 2 comments
I've been watching a ton of anime lately, and i've realized there is a LOT of really good anime coming up this spring and from last fall~ :D

Ghost Hunt- really good ghost catching/hunting show.. you kinda can't watch it and pick out all the things that are kinda weird and incorrect, but instead have to watch it for entertainment value. there were soo many elements unexplained at the end but i enjoyed it anyway.. please make season two >_<
summary: Ghost Hunt follows the adventures of Kazuya Shibuya, the president of the Shibuya Psychic Research Center (SPR) and Mai Taniyama, a first year high school student. When Mai and her friends try to attract spirits at a creepy and decrepit high school building, they find that none of the rumoured ghosts appear. Instead, Mai and her friends meet Shibuya, the owner of Shibuya Psychic Research, who has been hired to investigate paranormal activity at the school. When Mai accidentally breaks some of Shibuya's expensive equipment, she reluctantly takes up a part-time job at the company to pay for it. Unfortunately, Mai and Shibuya do not get along at all.
Along with Shibuya's assistant, Lin, the SPR also finds itself assisted by various spirit mediums and exorcists.
25 Episodes in total.

Kamichu - this is an ADORABLE anime about a little elementary school girl who has become a god over night and her daily trials with coping with her powers and with her daily life. It's such a charming and innocent anime that was introduced to me by shirai :D the animations are adorable and the innocence of this anime really made me feel warm and fuzzy inside with each episode i've watched.
16 episodes (i've yet to finish this)

Code Geass ~ Lelouche of the rebellion- this is the famous anime with character designs by clamp and created by Sunrise(the gundam ppl). I find this anime entertaining, although i feel a 'deathnote x gundam seed' feeling to it.. just the style of the anime and not the story tho :O it's enjoyable and quite exciting at times :D however, the guy representing the 'good' side is VERY annoying and nothing like how "L" was in deathnote D:

Summary: On August 10th, 2010, a.t.b., the Holy Empire of Britannia overpowered Japanese forces and conquered the country with their robotic weapons, the Knightmare Frames, in less than a month. Japan lost its freedom and rights and was renamed Area 11, and the Japanese people are renamed "Elevens" and forced to survive in ghettos, while Britannians live in first-class settlements. Rebel elements persist, however, as pockets of Japanese organizations struggle against the Empire for the independence of Japan.
After his father, the Emperor of Britannia, did nothing to pursue the terrorists who murdered his mother and crippled his sister, a young boy named Lelouch vowed to destroy Britannia. Seven years later in Area 11, he encounters a mysterious girl who gives him the power of the Geass. With it, he finally has the power that he needs to defeat Britannia and fulfill his two wishes: to seek revenge for his mother and to construct a world in which his beloved sister can live happily.
first season: 23 episodes (season 2 in the making)

Fafner of the Azure - i'm still in the middle of watching this; it's really really exciting! although there is a really really heavy feeling of 'evangelion' here, i think i love the idea of the whole fighting unknown beings type thing.. i'm such a sci-fi geek D: on a separate note, the music is amazing, and really reminds me of the music from esca and eva a lot... very beautiful~ i'm really excited to see how it ends...

summary: This 25-episode anime series produced by Xebec starts where much of the world had been destroyed by beings known as Festum. On a remote Japanese island called Tatsumiya, people had managed to hide themselves from the Festum using the most advanced technologies. It was the last Paradise on Earth. At last, the Festum discovered the island and began to attack. However, the adults were not unprepared. They activated shield walls and sent out a young pilot, Kazuki Makabe (真壁一騎 Makabe Kazuki), to fight the Festum using a giant robot called Fafner. This is how the story begins.
25 episodes

Tokyo Majin Gakuen Kenpuchō: Tō - to be honest, i didnt' like how it was drawn in the beginning (too shounen animation-ish.. hard to explain) and it was such a 'dark' anime! however, the part about fighting demons and having special powers really interested me and i continued to watch it.. and i really enjoy it! i just finished getting the latest episodes last nite but i've yet to watch them because i was watching the anime mentioned above :P

summary: In the nights of Tokyo, mysterious deaths involving the 'Reborn Dead' occur. People that are disappearing at night suddenly reappear during the day as a corpse. Not only that, but as the corpses are sent to the morgue to be autopsied, they disappear again leaving signs showing that they escaped themselves.
To fight these 'Reborn Dead' and to prevent more deaths, mysterious transfer student, Tatsuma Hiyuu, and delinquent student, Kyouichi Houraiji, stays up every night to fight and solve what's causing this. Along with the rest of their group, who all have supernatural powers, they soon realize that a greater threat, which involves even more powerful demons, is near.
(that's basically what the first eps are about but the story changes into wondering WHERE these powerful demons are all coming from :D)

Heroic Age - this is another sci-fi anime that has just started earlier this month in Japan. I like everything about it so far, but as I've only seen the first episode, there's a lot I dont' understand about the story yet.

Summary: After an advanced race, the Golden Tribe, left the universe, the human race became threatened with extinction. The Silver Tribe has long since been the most dominant race in the universe. The young princess, Dianeira, of the Iron Tribe, searches for the one that have been mentioned in her family's history; the one that holds the power to save her people. This person she looks for is the only human who has been raised by the Golden Tribe, before their departure from the universe. After her ship and crew reaches the ruined planet, Oron, which holds the one she's looking for, they're attacked by the Bronze Tribe. Right before the attack, they come in contact with a young boy named "Age" (Eiji), who may hold the secrets to their salvation.

Saiunkoku no monogatari - i love this anime!!! it's set in a ancient China-like place and is drawn beautifully, has interesting characters and a great storyline. I'm awaiting season 2 right now and i have a feeling its' going to be even better~ it is often compared with other similar setting anime such as fushigi yuugi, but as a person who used to "fangirl" all over that anime, i know it's really different, and i prefer Saiunkoku MUCH more.. it's just an overall uplifting anime.. can't wait for se02!!!

Summary: The story, which takes place in the fictional medieval empire of Saiunkoku, follows the adventures of Shuurei Kou, a descendent of a noble family that has fallen on hard times. Her father serves as librarian in the Imperial palace, a post which offers prestige and respect but little compensation. Shuurei teaches in the temple school and works odd jobs to make ends meet, but her dream is to pass the imperial examinations and take a post in government, a path forbidden to women. Shuurei's plans come to an abrupt halt when the Emperor's Grand Advisor makes a startling offer: join the imperial household for six months as the young Emperor's consort, and teach the Emperor to be a responsible ruler. If she succeeds, the financial reward will be great. The story details Shuurei's growing relationships with the Emperor and other members of the court, the intrigues that surround imperial politics, and Shuurei's commitment to better herself and her country.

First season: 39 Episodes + 2 specials (second season coming soon)

that's it for my report on anime for now :D

re: j9: wow, are you sure you're left handed guitar person?! you should still learn and become even better than jay! but i know your feeling.. my brother in law plays the guitar and his electric guitars are all taunting me.. but about the ricky thing, he offered to but i only learnt from Jon (if u remember him that is..).. i had that girlie giggle when u said the 'offered lesson' thing tho, if u get what i mean hahaha brings back old funny memories...

another weekend over...

Posted by Ling at 3:17 PM 3 comments
the lovely four day work week ended quickly but so did the weekend that came after it~ D: i slept late on both days but had to wake up early (around 10-11am ish), making me really really really tired today =__________=;;

on saturday i had a really realaxing guitar lesson outside (we have very informal lessons hehe) with my teacher/friend... i kinda realized then that i was comfortable with him not just cuz he was my friend but because of his easy-going, relaxed attitude towards life. i am very much like that myself (i think i take nothing overly seriously haha...) so to see it in other people made me realize that it is how we look at life that decides how much pressure we have and how happy we are with it~ verrrry deep stuff haha...

afterwards i went back to festival walk and bought a ton of snacks from 'okashi land' (i think that's what it's called?) as they had a bunch of 'limited edition' seasonal type snacks :D my favorite? cookies and cream 'acorn' as seen here:

after i went home, my sis and i cooked dinner together and lg718 came over for it :D we played wii and ps3 afterwards and i think it was doing that one right after the other that made me so dizzy i had to stop play gundam musou after awhile @.@ i literally couldnt even look at the tv and ended up letting lg718 play the whole mission himself XD (which is annoying because of how many enemies u gotta kill alone)~

on sunday i woke up early to drink tea with my family as my dad was back from toronto :D we hadn't done that in a longgg while, and as usual, my dad had the 'just back from toronto, long time not in hk' syndrome, where he said everything tasted very good but the portions were small. i think anyone who isn't in HK for a long period of time gets this @.@;;
i went on a shopping spree with lg718 after XD we were supposed to buy clothing for his sis and mom but i ended up buying two one piece dresses, a tshirt, more snacks, one part of lg718's birthday gift and my favorite magazine all in one shot @.@;;
we had dinner with a family friend that we've known for AGES.. it was her birthday and a big bunch of us went to this lovely korean restaurant at Lee's Garden in cwb for dinner. i love korean food :D~~ but the night passed by too fast and it was time to go home and prepare for work soon -____-;

on a side note, i'm starting my japanese lessons again :D i can finally take the level 2 test at the end of the year (i SOOOOOooooooooooooo regret not taking it back when i was still in university so that i'd have that under my belt already bleh..) but i'm kind of worried that because i haven't used my japanese in awhile that i'll be super behind and need a LOT of time to review it all again... @.@
i'll be starting street jazz classes this saturday as well with my sister! i just need to motivate myself to do pilates at least 2-3 times a week at home now and i'll be good. it's difficult when i get off work so late ~_~;

however, everything seems to be working well :D i'm taking courses in things i enjoy (music and language and dancing) AND i'm able to see old friends and spend time with family etc. as well!

current mood: feeling fulfilled and proud of myself (for now.. :P)

re: nic: i think i have 16 last time i counted but i might be off... my sister is complaining about how they're taking up my room and the two larger ones on my bed are forcing me off soon...
thanks for sending me mio's mii!! another way to communicate with you, wifey!!

re: ms/mr anonymous: i wasn't busy D: just that i didn't have anything especially exciting to write about.. till now XD thanks for your support x3

and with mushroom miffy:

both are sitting on top of the new novel i'm reading.. 'tigana' by guy gasvriel kay (i'm definite i spelt part of his name wrong).. i think i read one of his books back in highschool (lent to me by a friend; i loved it a lot but for some reason forgot the name of the book and author..) and so i decided to try another one of the novels in this collection :D i'm craving for good fantasy type books, so anyone who has suggestions, please let me know!!

current mood: nuuuu back to work tomorrow...................................

lovely becky and me~

thomas (haha.... we usually refer to him as 'dad' as he's the one that pays the bill and we pay him back afterwards...)

philip and me~ (he's my sydney planner helper person XD)

it was sooo much fun singing with them as, although they're older, they don't act like it and are a LOT of fun to be around~ and best was the room had an awesome sound system and it sounded like i was singing live with each song!

on tuesday, had a great dinner with ricky and jon and justin (who stopped by for a short while)~

jon, me and justin:

jon me and ricky (for all those who haven't seen these guys in awhile, no they haven't changed hahaha....)

its soo much fun to just sit and relax and talk with a bunch of friends you've known for like 10+ years... and to realize that no matter what, they won't change .. at least not much haha~

current mood: :D long weekend XD
