sick :(

i got the flu on the weekend ~_~ i have no idea when i got it, but it started sometime on friday night when i kept complaining of headaches at work :( then i got this terrible migraine while out getting a haircut and at mk buying games ~_~ not a great way to begin or end a weekend.. i took a day off work yesterday and went to the doctor, who told me i had a throat infection + flu :( i have six packets of medicine to finish up D:

take care everyone D: dont' get sick like me, especially when i hear it's still quite warm in toronto but yet snowing in vancouver ~_~;;

ps: ps3 is very beautiful but aside from the lovely graphics that not all tvs can support yet, and the potential 7.1 (o.O i'm kinda trying to undersatnd 6.1 still and there's already 7.1) support, it's very much like ps2 but better @.@ hard to explain what i mean, but there are a lot of small problems with it ~_~ i hope it improves D: especially the overheating thing D: it's just way too hot ~_~
i recommend wii for everyone tho :D lots of fun + exercise!!!

my bro in law got wii last nite! :D

it was a nice surprise as we were thinking we might get it before x'mas but not sure, especially after seeing all the hype about it, but he managed to get one last nite!! XD now lg718 needs to get one and then i can be ensured of proper entertainment at home and at his place XD~
as a ton of my friends in toronto have gotten a wii, we have created a new term: "wiiing"~
usage: "brb, i'm gonna go wiiing" or "hi, i just finished wiiing" etc XD the console name and design makes it easy to make wii-ing an action :P~

unfortunately he was unable to grab extra controllers and no zelda D: i was looking forward to hacking away at my enemies with a sword too D: however, we will continue the search for controllers! especially since wii isn't even out in japan yet (i think next next week?) there is an even bigger shortage of supplies in hk~ i was hearing stories about how this guy cracked his tv screen because the strap on his wii controller broke.. D: very very very x 1000 scary lol.. i hope i don't get too frusterated or excited when playing and have that happening by accident xD;;

another surprise: we're getting ps3 soon too :D apparently my bro in law, who's always at quick about getting the latest in electronical items/toys etc, managed to snag a preorder somehow! we should be getting it sometime this weekend.. what with the wii, the ps2 (they were playing this really fun dragonball fighting game on the ps2 where you can play story mode and fight the actual fights like in the manga :D i need to read the books again :3), xbox360, NDS's, PSPs and now ps3 + bro's gaming chair, our living room is becoming more like a gameroom and is starting to be crowded.. what to do if we want to try out the ps3 but yet play a game of tennis on wii D:

one thing is good for sure: now that my bro in law has gotten both consoles, i have saved lots of money by not needing to get either XD
and i'm still obsessed over ff3 anyway :D i've ditched phoenix wright 2 for now (what with my bro telling me how awesome it is, i feel like i'm playing too slowly lol) and concentrating on ff3 fully~ love the game! old school style ff rpg but with cute ff7-like graphics and jobs like ffxi~ i love it! can also send wifi msgs to people around the world :heart:

offtopic: getting a haircut on sunday :D but.. as my curls are growing out, i wonder if i can really trim much before they're gone D:...

happy birthday to my sis!

i took off half day to spend it with her as I hadn't had many chances to since she was on her business trip to san jose. we went shopping at cwb after a nice lunch at APM mall in kwun tong. after walking for hours and hours, and carrying tons of 'victory items' (yay for sale time in hk :D got so many good deals) we went out to celebrate at this lovely korean restaurant in miramar mall in tsim sha tsui with my bro, mic sis and bro in law. the food is absolutely delicious here!!! we only eat korean bbq here, and the meat, though expensive, is marinated perfectly and the waitresses help you cook all the meat and change the grill after each meat.

after a series of pictures, fruits etc, i went back to amp with my sis and bro in law to pick up his car and then back home. i'm so glad my sis liked the small gifts lg718 and i gathered for her.

hope she had a wonderful bday, though it's a big change to her still!

sooo sleepy!

i'm literally falling asleep in my chair at work =_=~ i really suck now.. i used to be able to stay up after 3 hrs of sleep but it doesn't work anymore...

an interesting weekend~ i went early x'mas + bday shopping with my family + lg718 on saturday! we had a lovely lunch at spaghetti house (i love eating there lol) and went shopping around festival walk after~ mic sis just had an amazing haircut (similar to 'hocc' type short, cool and stylish hairstyle) at "hair" at festival walk, which led me to booking an appointment with that same stylist next week :D
we went to log-in (is it log-in or log-on @.@) where we bought x'mas gifts and bday gifts :D it was soo crowded but filled with lots of lovely decorations so it was a LOT of fun~
on sunday i went shopping against with lg718 and got some clothes, my sister's bday gift, along with some random x'mas gifts. the cut-off date for cards/letters/presents to reach North America is Dec 4th!! so much to send out before then ~_~ it may seem oldfashioned to send x'mas cards but i *love* doing it :D and receiving something in the mail is always nice! (and as usual, i somehow found a gift for lovely cylyna without even trying to find it... i can't wait till u get it! haha) stores in malls and buildings on the streets are starting to decorate with x'mas decorations :D it's looking really beautiful now~

lots of new games are out :D wii + ps3 are out as well, and it was nice to hear lg718's sister managed to grab a wii from bestbuy @.@ however, she also had to line up with her friends starting 3am, which mean freezing in line for over 3-4 hrs! was it worth it? D: i hope so ~

on a side note: i finally got the hyde US tour dvd from lg718's place! he had helped me get the package awhile ago but i hadn't had a chance to get it back now. the live i went to with raven (err.. long story) is also on this dvd!!!!! and thanks to lovely raven, who spotted herself first (thanks for the pic ^^; ), i found myself in the crowd! I'm the pink arrow, raven is the red arrow~

i can't believe she spotted herself! @.@ amid all that pushing, shoving and sweating... my hands are lost somewhere in there, and i can see that annoying girl who kept shoving her sweaty.. arg.. body against me...

however... amid all that gross stuff... i'm glad i went :D

weekend review as usual~

i survived the weekend without buying a single thing :D
that probably sounds weird to people who dont' live in hk, but trust me.. even though you may have lived here for many years, the end result is that it's hard to get away from purchasing stuff ~_~

on friday i went to eat dinner with my family (i had to 'fly airplane' on don ~_~) because my dad was leaving on wednesday and that was the only day he was free for sure~ it was fun as usual and delicious but went by soo fast ~_~ on saturday i ate lunch at lg718's house where he gave me a souvenir from his short business trip to 海南島:


it's so adorable ; ; it's apparently made out of a coconut shell but i can't seem to see where they glued/put it together :D

afterwards we went to the bookshop where he had to look up some stuff for work and i browsed some books randomly~ we ate dinner at my sister's house (err where i'm currently living lol) and me and lg718 played the gundam seed fighting game afterwards :D my bro in law was trying to look for this dragonball game for my sis to play on ps2 but while trying to look for it, we came across the gundam seed game! it was so sososo much fun~ i keep saying ppl play it at arcades but i've never got the nerve to play it because it means challenging someone haha.. in this game, you pick your mecha and a character and either play with someone against computer or just play against someone :D lg718 and i partnered up against random mecha and random battlegrounds so it was really awesome~ you could customize the music played too so it was as if we were really in the anime and fighting @.@ i was using kira's freedom a lot and used asuran's chara :D i was really getting the hang of it till we got stuck in a stage where we had to fight against asuran's old 'teammate' 'Nikoru' ~_~ however it was a lot of fun :D
i think i'm hooked D:

on sunday i went out with lg718 to eat lunch at tsim sha tsui~ it was soo relaxing as we were eating early (around 12.. on a sunday that's considered early haha) at this vietnam fusion restaurant. we chose this course where it was all made of beef.. so yummy! afterwards we walked around harbourcity awhile where lg718 ended up getting the bag he wanted :D we joined my sis at mong kok and walked around with her a bit ~ after eating a light meal my sis insisted we go back to tst, so we took a taxi there and she ended up buying a handbag and some other stuff @.@
afterwards, my sis went home and i went to lg718's house to pick up some stuff ~ it was so nice! i was tired of walking so he told me to go to his flat first while he ran some errands and when he got back he surprised me with a haro constellation light globe :D


it's adorable.. after you take off the haro cover, you turn off the lights and turn it on and the 'constellations' will be shone onto the ceiling~ so touched because i always wanted one and he found the perfect one ; ;

sigh.. monday... :( tonite i'll be eating buffett at langham hotel in mk again but.. not really looking forward to it ~_~

international rock paper scissors (包剪揼) contest.... o.O

well according to this news article, there is going to be an international 'rock paper scissors' (包剪揼) tournament held in toronto this weekend, where champions from all over the world compete for the world champion title. and surprisingly this has been done since 2002! this rock paper scissors club started in england in 1842 and has since moved it's headquarters to toronto (great, my home town hahah...)~

what amazes me is that it's held in my hometown AND there are actually champions to this game @.@ i'm not sure about everyone else but we use rock paper scissors to form groups for tag, or for other things where we needed a random outcome @.@;; so how u can actually become a champion is beyond me..

weekend yay! but today feels really boring for some reason ~_~ not sure why...
i'm on the second part of phoenix wright :D it came out a few weeks ago and the japanese version is bilinguial and the player can choose english or japanese! it's a lot of fun but a lot harder @.@ but sooo satisfying when u figure everything out XD

going out with friends for din tonite, and going to watch tales of earthsea tomorrow~ yay~ hope i can get off work earlier today....

well i watched deathnote on sunday~ it was much much much more boring than the previous part, especially since it was much longer (2+ hrs?) and they made the plot so dull ~_~ i guess it was an effort to round up the movie without changing too much of the storyline.. basically they took the real ending from the manga but changed it so that it ended where it would have been the middle of the story in the manga~ it made sense but as the ending from the manga sucked, it actually wasn't a good ending to choose. it sounds confusing but i really just dont' want to spoil it for anyone XD;; lets just say, books 1-6 were really good and should have ended at book 6 but they went on for another 6 books (? i think..) and made the crappy ending.. i kind of understand why they would do that but.. it's not always the best choice ~_~

ok enough of my ranting that doenst' make sense to anyone except those who've read the manga xD;

my muscles ache from the pilates + bodywork class i had on monday.. i love pilates but the body work stuff added to it makes it 1000000000000000000 times harder; especially when i have absolutely no strength in my arms and i have no experience in yoga (i tell u, i'm not flexible at ALL). i've decided with my friend that we'll take a dancing course next, either hip hop or one of those modern dancing classes~

overall a really boring weekend + week so far.. the only exciting thing was receiving the package from japan from 'as know as', one of mic sis favorite brands. i love their stuff! along with a few pieces of clothing, we both got leg warmers... haha something i've actually wore when i was 16 and i can't believe i'm going to wear it again now... fashion is always a circular thing... some old pieces always come back, but probably more modern and fitting to the current year~

deathnote part 2!

deathnote part 2 was out in asia yesterday! my siblings ALL went to watch it but i was saving it to watch with lg718 D: i'm glad i read all the manga so i dont' feel so left out XD i recommend it to everyone, especially those who haven't read the manga, to go watch it!

funny observation: i prefer "raito" in the manga to L, but when watching the movie, it's the other way around! maybe because when u see L live, and moving, it's actually quite funny and u can't help but like L! but in the novel, u see more from raito's perspective and less just of his actions (as the movie can only depict his actions and less of his way of thinking) so he's more 'likeable'~ and maybe also because the actor portraying raito still isn't who i would have liked for that role ~_~ oh well~ at least L is great :D

at langham place in mongkok, the actors from the movie were having a small gathering there last week!! too bad i missed it :( but they still had the lifesized models of the gods of death on display! there were a lot of people or it would have been cool to pose in front of the flying one and take a pic, as if he was following you XD:

肥田~

i have to admit, i'm being caught up in this tv show D: and i thought it was all a stupid publicity thing when they kept airing her commercials!

for those who do not know too much about hong kong tv shows, '肥田' is a hk drama that's currently airing on tv in hk now. it tells the story of a healthy but 'fat'( in asian standards), rich, "philipino" girl (played by hong kong tv actress, 胡杏兒) who flies to hk to live with her cousin so that she can escape the arranged marriage her father has for her back in her hometown. she decides to pursue her dream of being a fashion designer but finds that no matter how much talent she has, she was constantly being turned down by people due to her appearance. however, she refuses to change her 'heavier' image and continues to pursue her dreams. along with the fashion designer dream, she also hoped to meet the 'dream guy' who she completed a painting of sunflowers with on a wall near this cafe she passes by each day. she believes that this unknown person who started the painting with a handprint and who kept adding onto the painting when she is not around, as she did as well, is the only person who understands her and the only person she wants to meet. after a series of mix-ups as to who the mysterious guy is, she finds out that it's her boss (played by famous hk singer, 許志安), the one who reluctantly allowed her to become one of his designers for his clothing line, but who has a bias towards "fat" people.

it sounds kind of 'ughh.. cliche..' but it's actually really good! 胡杏兒 actually gained 50 lbs for the role and had to lose 30lbs in a month to play the last few episodes. in the show, she really is chubbier and not pretending to be someone else; she just falls into the role of 肥田 really really easily~ i hope everyone gets to see this soon! the opening theme and ending theme are really touching as well, sung by the two of them~ particularily the song 豬先生 on andy's cd (which 胡杏兒 also sang in the show) is very touching, with my favorite lines towards the end:
