end of summer D:

had a fun (long?) weekend with my family yet again~ on saturday i went to harbour city and ate lunch with lg718 and his family~ i loveee eating at california pizza kitchen (chicken?!) but unfortunately, their pasta oven was having trouble and so i couldnt' order my favorite penne D: however, we had two lovely pizzas and some delicious tortillas ^-^
afterwards, we shopped around harbour city where i ended up trying and trying on ballerina flats at lcx and the stores in that area, without success. i already have a pair that are in a nice lavendar colour but i was hoping to get another pair so that i could wear them alternately and neither would be worn out.. but i have waaaay too many shoes D: the thing with HK is that they have the loveliest shoes but the worst condition to wear them in (ie. females have to walk a lot so you need a pair that aren't too high or u get blisters, it rains so often that anything pretty will be ruined if u dont' check weather beforehand, and people in HK are generally rude and i've actually had ppl step on me so hard that my sandals broke D:)~ i've settled down to wearing low, around 1/2~1 inch heels, either with a round or pointy tip~ and mostly from b+ab, my favorite store~
afterwards i hung around page one while waiting for my sis to come (lg718 had to leave earlier to eat with his relatives) and managed to read half of "dragons of winter night"~ i love this series! or at least the first original six books of this large series. i'm so glad sis bought the anthology so we could have a collection of the books in hk for forever...
anyway when my sis came, we shopped around and had dinner at strawberry forever cafe~

on saturday i went to drink tea with my sis and her husband's family~ we then went to a department store ("wing on" department store in jordan for anyone curious hehe) where she bought one of those fancy new 'all in one' electric er.. pot? i'm not sure what to call it but it allows you to bake cakes, cook rice, make yummy chinese soup etc without having to watch it carefully because the appliance adjusts the timing, heat etc when it's baking so that you can go ahead and do other things. my sis had been wanting one for the longgggest time as it allows her to concentrate on other stuff while the soup (which usually takes the longest and needs to be looked after most) is being cooked (?) ~
i went with her to get some groceries afterwards because my bro and his wife were coming for dinner that nite to play some games *_* we got a TON of snacks (yummy wasabi chips :3~~~ ) and lots of ingredients for dinner~ it was a lot of fun to help her cook and to play games with my bro/sis etc afterwards! i think we enjoy these sunday gatherings a lot because we're getting a bit older but the sense of being a kid has never changed. maybe because we're closer now (age difference isn't making much difference now?) and i dont' get to see them as much~

lg718's sis and mom went back to toronto last nite ; ; sooo boring without them now~ lg718 and i went shopping at nighttime (yet again at harbourcity ~_~;;) and i helped my sis get a YSL bag and lg718 and i also got similar leather bracelets from BV.





that's the one i got in black ^-^. lg718 got a black one with two 'belt' buckles instead of the ball of leather like mine. it's adorable! and it fits my wrist perfectly without being annoying! it turns out that it was cheaper than i thought too.. o.o either they're lowering their prices or i got their prices messed up...

on a different topic: my sis in law got a new phone recently, the N73 from nokia, because she wanted a new phone (we happened to get the same phone around the same time xD our phone is not quite a year old yet but it feels like we've used it forever! ) and also because the phone she was using (and i'm still using), the 903sh, is still worth 2.5k! i hope the price stays the same when i find the right phone to get ~_~




that's the N73 by Nokia right there.. it looks.. blah.. but according to my mic sis (ms. sis in law of mine), the phone has a lovely photo viewing program and is very very customizable. and the camera is really good too... however.. the colours.. and looks.. o.o;

any suggestions? but after the lovely 3.2mp camera on my current phone.. nothing is the same D:

sigh.. a week more till i can get my muse bag back from ysl /cry~ they're fixing the buckle and it'll take awhile :(

amano art festival! one of my favorite artists~~~ it was held for a few days at festival walk in kowloon tong.. unfortunately the theme wasnt' final fantasy or u would have seen me going crazy with the camera.. a random picture from the distance. the paintings were all going for 70k or more D:
but.. if there was a final fantasy painting, i bet lg718 would try to get it haha...



my bag D: i gave in.. actually more like 'caved in' and got it D: i love it! it's a lovely milk chocolate colour and soo roomy~ it's heavy but feels light when i put it on my shoulder~ and the price was soo good~~ cheap ^-^ and i took it next to my new gray miffy "jumping over moon" stuffed toy given to me by lg718 ^-^ so cute~~~

i'm a lovely neighbor~

i made a random observation of myself today at work:
i actually happen to eat non-stop the whole day o.O
it all started with this...we have a new coworker at work who occupies the empty desk right next to mine (we have this stupid short partition separating our desks but... our computer monitors are at an angle next to each other so we're like practically facing each other...) when he talks on the phone he whispers because i can hear him and vice versa; very very unpleasant. i've been next to an empty desk for like four months before he came :(
anyway... the funniest thing is, i think i've noticed more about what i do at work because he's sitting next to me and i'm assuming he's always seeing me do the same things over and over:

1. i have food in my mouth practically at any minute of the day (i bring too much snacks to work :/ chocolate, wasabi seaweed, chips, chestnuts, brownies, bread, coke candy, hi-chew, gummy bears, chocolate wafers, mini chocolate chip cookies; i swear, these are all in my desk drawers at one point and i'm finishing them off one by one..)~ i keep imagining him with this type of expression and thinking:
你又食野??
2. i talk on the phone a lot at random times of the day D: (that is, if lg718, my sisters/bro/mom, don etc are free to talk)
3. i tend to close my eyes and 'sleep' during the slow hours of the morning D:
4. i get up to go walk around a lot xD;;
5. i tend to stare at the monitor with a weird smile on my face (i'm not sure if he knows i'm msning or reading a funny article; i hope he just doesnt' assume i'm crazy or love to look at our funds' valuations D:)
6. i type. a LOT. and my keyboard is LOUD so i think it might disturb him haha..

at first i felt bad because he's new and he has to endure my er.. slacki-ness. BUT.. i've realized he doesn't care, he's manager in his department and i think he can deal with these things. the funny thing is, i bet he's starting to think "oh gosh.. what the hell did i get myself into?! D:" (especially when he realizes he has to deal with the 'lovely' boss of ours...)

something random: my supervisor told me to go google the word "failure"... the first result made me laugh.. she is awesome haha...

deathnote!

I watched deathnote last nite with lg718 and his sister! (website here) for those who dont' read comics/haven't heard of this movie, it's based on a manga called Deathnote (err sorry that was kind of stupid) which is a super super bestseller in both Hong Kong and in Japan. The author of this manga also wrote several other famous mangas (like the manga "Hikari no go" (i think that's the name)) and is famous for his super brain cell killing plots that keep you thinking hard as you read~ aside from One Piece (which is mostly silly dialogue anyway haha), i think deathnote has the most complex and LONGGGGGGGGG dialogue i've ever read in any manga..

About the story? well not to give too many details, but it's about a boy who finds this notebook that gives him the power of a shinigami (god of death): the power to decide when a person dies. to do so, he must know the person's true name and what they look like and write the name in the book. if nothing else is written, then within 40seconds after he writes the name, the named person dies of a heart attack no matter where she/he is. It's really, really deep and interesting!

About the movie, without giving spoilers, the only complaint i have is that the main character 夜神月 (or "Light"/Raito; i'm not even sure if that's what they really call him in japanese.. @.@;;) isn't quite good looking enough to ful-fill the character he's portrayed as in the manga :( i think he's not bad but i think he looks half-zombieish without makeup or colour on his lips ~_~;; and i know 夜神月 in the manga is someone who has tons of charisma and charm and supposed to be really good looking -.-; oh well~ however, what's really funny is that he has a really nice voice! when i first heard it, it reminded me of anime voice actor voices! haha if u watch a ton of anime and watch this movie, then u'll know what i mean :P it's really funny~
anyway my favorite character ended up to be L~ i really like how he's portrayed! exactly like the manga except it's funnier becuase he's an actual live person now. i recognized the actor as the one who played "Shin" in the nana movie~ he wasn't my choice for shin but i think for L he fits PERFECTLY!

anyway for those who want to see it but can't (ie. in toronto etc), i hope u manage to find a way to get it ~ it's a really good movie for those who haven't read the manga because the plot overall is really good~ and much simpler when u see it in movement rather than in words like in the manga! the second part coming out in november! XD~

kids forever?! :O

yet again, it's monday! i think this weekend was the one that i had the MOST laughs in... and i think i've never felt better~ i have bouts of 'depression' becuase i am constantly reminded about how i hate my job (forced to do a job that i never got to choose...) but yet have to keep with it because there's not an alternative for me at this time of year ~_~ (stupid hk bonus thingie...) however, after this weekend of laughter, i feel TONS better~

to start it off, i had a blast watching pirates! like i mentioned previously, i was laughing my head off around 70% of the time because johnny depp's acting was just incredible! my favorite parts: when they were captured by natives and were trying to escape; johnny depp's escape with a pole on his back, the 'wheel' scene where i'm reminded of lg718's poor hamster~ soo hilarious! but a funny thing is, only me and two other girls (and also don, now and then) found it all hilarious! for the most part, there were only a few chuckles in the theatre.. interesting...
but the movie keeps u hanging.. :(
we went for bubble tea and snacks afterwards where i went nuts and kept laughing at everything they were saying! laughter is really the best medicine lol~ ^_^

on saturday, my bro in law and sis were flying back from london (from their long cruise)~! however their flight got horribly delayed because of the terrorist scare from the day before and so we didnt' see them till around dinnertime~ i managed to get my mom out of the house for the afternoon as she was nervously waiting them and worried that about the whole terrorist thing... when they were back, my mom was SO much happier and my bro and sis in law came over and we had yet another nds 'party'! we ordered pizza for dinner (which is so funny because it was like we were back in toronto in that moment) and had SO much fun~

the following day we went out for tea at this delicious yet really cheap place at jordan for lunch~ when we got home at around 4, we started another NDS thing (with me challenging my bro to boggle.. i love that game!) and then we played the new uno as well! the fun thing about this new version of uno is that there's a machien u press a button on each time u pass or get those x2 cards.. and cards either fly out or not.. soometimes u even get 10 cards at once! the six of us played (lg718 joined us later) and after several rounds, i managed to win ^-^
we then started a big mario kart fest where the six of us played (two cpu karts)~ amid all the cursing and laughing, we managed to play that game for several hours and wouldn't stop until we were going to be late for dinner ~
so.. my mom sums it up: when the six of us (my bro, sis, bro in law, sis in law and lg718 and i) get together, we're all kids again! ^-^ i think my mom just enjoys the laughter we're having and the reminder that no matter how old we are, whether we're married or not, or whether we're living in the same house, the bottom line is that we're still kids!

but.. my mom is flying back today and wont' be back till september :( until then, i still hope we manage a few nds parties! (grr gotta fix the wifi ~_~)

i watched the movie! i dont' like how they leave u hanging BUT.. i'm as proud of johnny depp's acting as ever! he's the greatest! i was laughing and laughing at certain parts of the movie; it was nuts! i had a stomach ache and tears in my eyes... donb and lg718 thought i went crazy lol~ nothing like a really good, silly movie that makes u laugh till u ache ^-^ i feel so much better after watching it~

weekend review (as usual ^^)

my weekend review ^-^
i had a pretty slow, relaxing (in a way...) weekend ^-^ on friday i met up with my brother and sis in law for dinner at home.. i haven't had dinner in such a long time! the day before, my mom had cooked for lg718 and me and his family and we had so much fun... so on friday, my bro and sis in law came over and mom did the same thing~ the best part about mom cooking is that the food is delicious and healthy AND i can pack leftovers for lunch! yay~ saves me so much money ~_~ eating in central costs at least hkd50 each time... so for a week, that's a lot of money :(
on saturday i woke up with the worst migraine ; ; my bro and i have a history of having random headaches and migraines since we were kids and on saturday we BOTH woke up with a really bad migraine~ i kept eating tylenol ultra the whole day but it wouldn't make all the pain go away, even when i kept napping... by dinnertime, the pain was so bad i wanted to puke ~_~ however, it got better after dinner, and was all gone at night when i took this medicine that my supervisor recommended ^-^ sooo glad i had asked her before about migraines and what medicine she took ~_~ it's scary when tylenol doenst' work anymore...
today (sunday) i went over to my brother's place at olympic station and had tea with them.. we went back to their place and played tons of ds and we also tried out this new uno game they got! it's the same as the old version except it came with this card dealer where you press a button each time u pass or get the x2 card and cards may or may not come out.. when cards do fly out, it's also randomly anywhere between 3-10 cards.. so much fun! they also had several new 'special' cards, such as an option to trade your whole deck with someone else, and also a card that lets u put out all the colours of that card out at one time.. tons of fun! best is if it's 4+ people playing together; that's when it gets interesting ^-^ i can't to have a chance to do that!
tomorrow is already the weekday /cry ; ; i wish it wouldn't go by so fast but weekends are always the best and always end so fast.. sigh... however, as the monthly stuff is mostly done, i can relax a bit till my boss comes back from his trip and actually come home earlier than normal.. hopefully ~_~;;

on another topic.. i was touched by comments from people saying they hope i felt better after getting food poisoning ; ; love u all! i really love it when u guys leave me comments ^_^
also, esepcially thankful that i managed to get in contact with my 'sissy chan' kat/kari again.. she emailed me and it was strange because i missed her so much and kept thinking about her recently! i was out of contact with her for 2-3 years ~_~ i love her tons and can't wait for the chance to meet her sometime in the future ^-^

to sum it up:

what i've been doing a lot lately: playing NDS nonstop, watching House season two. I'm soo addicted to watching house *_*; it's just SO good and exciting! highly recommended to everyone! also been going out shopping a LOT (with mom, with lg718's family) and eating out at yummy restaurants (because of my mom and lg718's family lol..).. in general i'm eating much more than i should D: i snack a lot with my sis in law and brother (i see them more now cuz of my mom hehe) and i have waay too much food at home..

what i want to do: watch pirates of the carribean (yes it's FINALLY out here in HK), watch deathnote, get the last deathnote manga, do more pilates at home, finish reading the agatha christie books i have in my room, finish watching all the anime/tv shows i have at home, and worst thing i'm not doing: sending wildie's bday gift off.. i'm really ashamed of myself but i've still not done it ~_~;;

random thought: my friend is leaving our company on wednesday ; ; sigh.. so many people leaving at once it's kind of sad... here's a pic we took at our lunch last tuesday: (i look so tired haha...)

gonna miss this friend.. he's about the same age as me (which is rare becuase most ppl are much much older than me) and fits in with me and my friend at work well.. :( awww... luckily he's working near us so we can bug him to treat us to lunch next time hoho~~

food poisoning o.O

well.. my bro, lg718 and i got food poisoned over the weekend D: if anyone read my previous extra long rant (xD;;;) u'll remember we ate at this chiu chow resturant in mong kok.. my sis in law was there too but she was actually fine.. well me and lg718 got sick the day after, around 20 hrs after we ate there so we assumed it was something else! but after finding out from my mom that my bro was sick as well, it confirmed there was a problem with the food: the oysters!!!

beware of oysters! i never really liked eating them but i assumed that being cooked and all, they'd be ok.. but apparently because of the humid weather, it's best not to eat them, especially raw @.@;; so we really learnt our lesson then ^^;; i'm reading all sorts of articles about oysters and how they're making ppl poisoned all over the world o.O;; so i'm really not surprised that we did too..
and, we technically made it into the news! ming pao newspaper reported this:

that place they mention is where we ate D: and we ate there on the 29th! lg718 somehow FOUND the article online o.O and sent it to me immediately .. after showing my bro and sis in law, we swore never to go there again~! although we've eaten there before.. once is enough D: i felt horrible that day ~_~;; sooo glad i'm 100% fine now (i think?) but i'm getting a sore throat and other stuff from being too 'hot air'.. yay for me ~_~;;

so everyone.. be careful what u eat this summer! with the sudden heatwave all over the world, it's so dangerous in so many ways ~_~;;
